RUN, DON'T WALK, AWAY!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/10/08
We started staying at this motel 15 years ago when it was a real gem...clean, quiet, great service, same people returning every year. For the last 4-5 years it has gone downhill horribly. After last year, we'll never go back. The rooms smelled musty, mold on walls and in shower, old toothpaste around the sink, terrrible mattress and bedding, sticky floors, and worse. The pool area isn't maintained. The pool isn't heated. The lounge chairs are so hard and uncomfortable you can't even relax by the pool. There are refrigerated trucks that park overnight right outside of the rooms so you can't sleep. Never again!

Nice !!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/15/06
I was surprised to see what a nice place this was. The standard was much higher than what I thought I was paying for. Value, value, value!!!. Clean nicely decorated rooms!!. They said that they had just done a major renovation to this resort. It was very nice!!!:) I love the pool, Tiki bar, and how nice and convienient with the restaurant just next door.I highly recommend this resort. It has to be the best value for your money in this area.I'll come back for sure. :)

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!
By Jolynn, 1/9/06
First of all I should have taken the first sign that came to me of how bad this place was. To start when checking in, a police officer was in the check in area. The list goes on and on. 1. You have to slam the doors to get them to close. 2. Mold on the Walls and in the showers 3. The wall paper is peeling off the walls. 4. the bedding was torn and raggid 5. Out of the two vanding machines to get something to drink, one had no power, the other completely sold out. 6. Smells horrible in the rooms 7. rust and old toothpaste etc. surround the sinks 8. when you pull down the bedding there is hair (not mine) on the sheets 9. Their towels are old thin and the size of hand towels 10. you fear to touch anything in the room for what you might catch. 11. People running around all hours of the night making noise. I am talking from when we got there, to the time we got up. Oh Wait, we did not get to sleep because of the noise. 11. I was not from cape coral and THERE WAS NO PHONE BOOK TO CALL AROUND TO FIND ANOTHER HOTEL THAT WOULD ALLOW OUR PETS!! Unfortunately we got stuck staying in this disgustion place because we arrived late at night with our two dogs and had to be up early the next morning for advertising we traveled there for. We did not have time to ride around and find another place that would take our dogs. They call this place a resort. It is a Nasty motel that should be shut down permanently. On top of all this the next day when I had to check out, they would not refudn anything, they even kept a pet deposit which I can honestly say, my dogs did not even deserve to stay there. Us and the dogs have never been in or seen such a place as this. DO NOT EVER EVER STAY HERE.

CLOSE TO THE WATER
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/05
I didn't actually stay there but checked it out for future vacations. I was already staying somewhere else where I wasn't happy so I looked around and found this gem. I asked to see a couple of rooms and thought they were better than where I was staying but could use a little work. The TIKI bar is wonderful. Now, I heard a little birdie told me that new owners are coming in and they are known for being meticulous about running a business. So look for the service and cleanliness to be upgraded quite a bit. Time will tell but I do believe the birdie even though it was a little one.

disgusting
By DAVID, 10/10/05
We are locals in the Cape and our air conditioning broke so we decided to get a hotel for the night. We often visit the wonderful tiki bar at the Del Prado. We got into the room looked run down, smelt like mold, wallpaper tearing, stains on bed sheets, low beds, tv didn't work, we had to call the front desk to tell us how to turn on the refrigerator and microwave with switches. While we were looking for the switch for the tv I pulled back the nightstand to review empty cigarette packs, a leftover pretzel and littles bugs everywhere. They were nice enough to give us a refund. For a couple dollars more I recommend...Quality Hotel or the Casa Loma which are real close by too.
