Pleasantly suprised and would def come back!
By Charlie, 3/5/12
We have traveled and camped all over this country so we are not first timers. This is not a state park but a privately owned and operated site. After reading the reviews we were a little apprehensive but were suprised at how friendly everyone was. The sites were a mixed bag of good and some not so good but that's the way it is in every campsite. The facilities are older but EXTREMELY CLEAN & WELL KEPT! There are two beaches at the back of the park that are situated of an inland waterway w/ mangroves. We had no encounters with any campers partying or up all might disturbing everybody. We were located on Sites 19 & 20. We enjoyed ourselves and will not hesitate to come back.

Don't rent a trailer here
By Keith, 1/19/12
The place is a condo and management accepts no responsibility for it's owners who rent their trailers. You get what you get with little or no recourse. It's a reasonably well kept park filled with mostly older trailers, owned by members who have been there for a long time and those who use it on week ends for partying. Some, as in our case, rent for a month or two. Be prepared for what you get. We left after a very few days due to moulds and mildew, ants and bugs, odor of urine on a stained mattress and bugs everywhere. We lost our 2 months vacation plus the cost of having to go somewhere else. Not a great place to plan a vacation for your family. Staff is reasonable but totally defensive when asked for some assistance or advice.

WORST CAMPSITE EVER. Utterly discusting.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/7/11
I felt like i was camping in an alley way. i slept on gravel. They didnt mark the right day for my camping trip. We checked out the campsite we originally checked out for and they were suprisingly nice. I think the right thing to do was atleast give us a discount and NOT charge us extra. At least have the decency not to. This was thee WORST CAMPING TRIP IVE EVER BEEN ON. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. I swear, a trailer park to be a campsite? We couldnt even have a camp fire. I am completely furious with this place. Oh i forgot to mention, it smelled like poop. You guys are idiots. THE END.

I like the location but not a good experience.
By John S, 7/5/09
The location is excellent. Convienent to Publix and K-Mart. Lots to do in Key Largo and we love going there. Unfortunately, we were so crowded we could hear everything going on the all the adjacent tents. We had people having a loud session of sexual play, loud music of all types, even louder conversation which got louder as the people drank more and more beer. Statements were made about some of the individuals ideas. One was they came to the Keys party not sleep. F**k anyone else who wanted to sleep. If they wanted to sleep, they could have stayed home. This went on until 3:00 AM. My wife and I only got about 2 1/2 hours sleep our first night. The people who made all the noise slept in during the morning, then were up and out around eleven. They had visitors arrive around 1:00 PM and we heard comments about what a great place they had to party and were looking forward to partying more on Saturday night. When I complained to management about this, they said I was probable mistaken. They explained it must have been noise from the sub division located just behind the camp ground on the other side of a 6 ft high wooden fence. I said that was not the case. With that attitude, we broke camp and returned home 1 day early. I asked for a refund on the one day. I was told they do not give refunds for any reason. Now I understand. We are here to take your money and don't care if you enjoyed yourself or not. Again, great location with good possibilities. If you do not mind camping like a sardine and privacy is not a concern for you, it is an okay place to go. If you want to camp and enjoy yourself, forget it. It ain:t going to happen!!

One of my favorite places in the world!
By Anna C, 11/14/08
I grew up going to this campground every other Christmas. There is tons to do and see! A few miles north is the dolphin research center, a short walk south of the campground is this tiny little cuban restuarant that has delicious coffee and toast... i know it's simple... but it's paradise. The campground is full of activities. It has a pool, a clubhouse, 2 beaches which show off the mangroves, a perfect marina... etc. I don't know if they still do it or not, but on Christmas eve some of the campers (including me!) would go around singing christmas carols! It was a blast. Definatley kid-friendly. Someday when I have kids, I will be taking them there. Simple, yet beautiful, the Florida Keys. :-)

We'd definitely stay here again!
By evanhansen, 1/1/08
Although it's about as cheap as you can get for Key Largo, it still could be cheaper for the rocky little camping space you get to pitch your tent in. Our advice is to bring your air mattress because you'll be sleeping on rocks. Also, you'll be close to your neighbors. Our fellow campers watched my more attractive female half like a movie while we were there (not the Kampground's fault, obviously). These minor criticisms aside, the staff was friendly and helpful. The grocery store (past the septic-smelling "rental community") is very convenient--a block or so away--and there's a nice-looking pool. We'd definitely stay here again!

A piece of "Keysy" paradise.
By Penny, 11/20/06
We have been there many times- it is so conviently located even if you don't have a car. The grocery store, library, K-Mart and many more shops are a short walk. April-November there are always boat slips available. It's easy to get to either the Gulf or ocean sidefrom there. It's fun to swim and snorkle in the campground canal as well as swim in the pool. Many people also fish from shore. The campground is kid friendly and safe with security at night/ gated. If you are tenting the bathhouses are very clean but dated. The 2 beaches aren't deep enough for adults to swim but nice to relax on. There are many activities in the area from snorkel tours/diving/fishing, to gambling on Sun Cruise. Be sure and visit Key Largo's official visitor center on the N. end of the key to get all kinds of info. We'll return!
