Would never go back

Sad to have to write a review like this but my wide and I took a friend of ours, who has to have a gluton free diet, for dinner at this hotel. When booking the table in advance we checked that they could cater for such a dietary requirement and were assured there was plenty of choice.
On arrival we were shown to our table, the restarurant was quiet, only another table of four, but after being seated a party of 15 arrived and we were told there would be a delay in dealing with us - not a problem as we were not in a hurry. After 20 mins wait a waitress arrived and obviously had no idea what gluton free was and after consulting with the chef went on to tell us all the dishes that were suitable and wich were not. Would have been very helpful if she had not got everything backwards. Finally we made our choices and another 30 min later starters arrived and very nice they were. Then nearly 30 mins after our starters the main course arrive and the so called guton free dish was served on a bed of barley. Back it went and after more confusion on the part of the staff we ordered a steak, which duly arrived 25 mins later and covered in battered onion rings. The steak was beautifully cooked however.
We decided to skip dessert and coffee and cut our losses. There were profuse apologies by the senior waitress and also the chef, sadly only a cursory one from the owner, who tried (and failed) to charge us the full amount for the meals.
We settled the bill and left. So in summary a restaurant that cannot cope with three tables, have little idea how to meet special dietary requirements and an owner who needs to learn more about customer service. Not the best experience and a place best avoided.
