Nags Head, York

Had the pleasure of lunching with my family at the Nags Head at Heworth recently having not visited for many years. The pub was clean and inviting and the choice of cask beers and lagers gave plenty of choice for everybody! I was delighted to see John Smiths Cask (which tasted as fantastic as it looked!) as living on the otherside of the Pennines this a rare treat. The lunch menu was wide and varied and offered exceptional value for money. The double fried hand cut chips were to die for! Having had such a good experience of the Nags Head I certainly wont be leaving years before my next visit!

we visited the Nags head for the wed carvary for the 2nd time yesterday & we wernt disappointed, 4 choices of meat, of some of each if wantd,Beef/Pork/Lamb/Turkeymmmmmmm delicious, a good selection of veg with both mash & roast potatoes, plus yorkshire puddings & the best gravy I have ever tasted, well other than "the little man's" & that takes some beating believe me! & all for £5. value for money, we'll be back, every wed at this rate. Since I used to live next door and knowing the landlord since more than a decade, it might not be very objective, but I never had a bad night within the premisses. Excellent Food and more than lovely treated Guinness... it's a must .. come and see it Cheers Always this Yorkshire-Austrian-Scottish Yank
