Lodge at the Inlet (The), Wellington

Recently attended a wedding at this venue. Venue appeared a bit dated and tired. Service was below average. Guests arrived from mid afternoon, but were advised the bar was not open till 5.30pm. Though guests were happy to pay for drinks before this time, we were not advised - seemed more of an incovenience. During the wedding ceremony outside we could hear people in the kitchen area talking loudly. The buffet was very bland and very disappointing. Throughout the speeches guests could hear banging and clanging from the kitchen - very offputting. Apart from staff advising each table when they could proceed to the buffet table, it was left up to guests to refill their own water bottles at the bar - we did not receive any further table service. We felt perhaps staff had attended to one function too many? Good location, just a pity about everything else.
