Hotel Maingau, Frankfurt am Main

We booked at the Maingau based on the photos on their website showing clean, attractive, modern rooms. On arrival we were given a filthy, run-down room with shabby furniture covered in cigarette burns. The carpet was threadbare and the bathroom had broken tiles. We complained and were told by an arrogant concierge that we�d never find a better hotel. We went across the bridge to the Steigenberger Max and got a beautiful room for less than the crummy Maingau cost. Included in the price was a fabulous breakfast. The service was excellent. We will never recommend the Maingau, and heartily recommend the Steigenberger Max. S.Steine

I have stayed at the Maingau for the past 6 years while attending the Paperworld Fair at the Messe Frankfurt. During the Messe Fair every hotel in Frankfurt rips off the clients with outlandish prices...the Maingau does not! The hotel is very clean, the rooms are very small, the lift is very, very, small, yet there is something very charming about this hotel. The staff knows me well and caters to my needs. What I truly love is their restaurant! The food and service is wonderful! I can not say enough about the quality of food! During the fairs traffic is also crazy in Frankfurt yet the Maingau is easy to get to using the tram system. All in all...the fact that I will be back this Jan. is a testimonial to the high quality of the Maingau! Tchuss!
