Put-in-Bay Resort and Conference Center, Put-in-Bay

I travel for my job...staying in multiple hotels in a months time all over the United States and I have NEVER encountered a "resort" (please!) so incompetant. This place is truly a joke. We arrived to accomodations that had busted up furniture and stains on the carpet. We had to go to the front desk and request a new sheet for the bed because it had stains on it. The first night of our stay, all 4 of us were woke up at 1:30 AM to the people above us. After 20 minutes of our walls shaking and everyone unable to go back to sleep because of the constant noise, I called the front desk. They "would take care of it". Another 20 minutes passed, it continued. I called back down to the front desk, it would AGAIN be taken care of. Still continued until after 3am. Outside our room there were also 10+ drunk people walking around the hallway, going in and out of neighboring rooms, slamming doors in the middle of the night. We had the same problem the following night. No appologies from the hotel, nothing taken care of. I felt like it was high school senior week at the beach. Upon checkout, the lady said they had our reservations in the computer until the following day. We booked the hotel for 2 nights. We stayed at the hotel for 2. My card was charged for 3. Upon discovering this on my card statement, I contacted the hotel. I was told that they don't refund money for rooms. I was also told that we confirmed the 3 night stay?????????????? Unbelieveable. Put In Bay 'Resort & Conference Center' tops my list of the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and find another place on the island!

Very dirty, smelly, noisy rooms. Worse of all, the management and staff will treat you like crap.

We really appricated the mangements dedication to keeping the party crowd out. After reading some of these reviews we are convinced these are the trouble makers who were asked to leave while we were there. it's a shame some people feel as if they can have the run of the house while disrespecting others. Kudos to the management!

They lost the gift certificate that I used to get discounted accommodations. So they insist in charging me over $100 more than what I was supposed to pay. They refuse to credit back my card even though it was their mistake for losing the certificate. You can't rationalize with these people to explain that it's their fault and to correct this. They either don't get it or just know they are comitting fraud. I've been getting the run around for over two months now. Also, while we were there, the fire alarms kept going off and we got no sleep. Beware of this place. Stay away!!!!

If you see anyone give this more than two stars they work at the hotel or have a vested interest in it. This is a filthly, run-down, overpriced, poor excuse for a flop house that you will regret ever staying at. My wife and I were extemely disappointed at the fithy rooms one bed even had grass in it! This has to be the crappiest place on the island! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! We will!

The place has horrible service...Amber is a discrace of a manager. Place could not figure out room key not working. Gave us a room with a hole in the wall from a door knob and faulty door stop.. What a joke of a hotel.. Save your money... stay at a Bed in breakfeast. Corporate service on island is running a scam.

If i could rate lower than a one star I would. DO NOT EVER GO HERE. We were having a good time till one of the people we were staying with got in the shower. The tub cracked and her foot went through it! Instead of accepting the fact that they had a bad shower tub, they charged me 1000 dollars and better yet they charged me twice! They also charge another person in our group twice. They also tried to refuse to offer the same discount price to all the people staying that night.I am currently still disputing their claim and I am horrified at how they handled it. They claimed we placed a chair in the shower!!!!!! We even got the cops involved....a whole Senior Formal ruined by their completely juvenile and unprofessional behavior. Terrible business, stay somewhere else.

First and foremost I would like to say I have been in the hotel industry for 10 years. I have seen the gamut of hotels and hotel rooms. I have to say I was very happy with my stay at this resort!! Being a germ-o-phobe and working in this industry, I found my room to be extremely clean and well appointed. Loved having the fridge in my room! Loved being close to the downtown area. Everyone on the staff was wonderful and trust me I can be that guest with a million requests and a million questions. I have stayed at the Islander on two occasions and this resort beats them hands down! Thank you PIB Resort for giving this stressed out hotel office manager a chance to relax and unwind from an extremely busy summer season.

My husband and I were supposed to stay at Put In Bay Resort in late August. We made reservations in March 2009 but never were able to stay at the property. Our dear friend had passed away suddenly in March and his family was spreading his ashes at the islands to celebrate his life and we were going to attend. We paid $375 for one nights deposit on a 2 room 1 bedroom suite. Sitter cancelled and we had to cancel our reservation. We canceled with more than a weeks notice and were told we would not get ANY money back. So, we asked to keep the room and let the other guests use it for the Memorial service and were told they had already REBOOKED it within a day. So, they wouldn't let us keep the room and they wouldn't give us our money back either. Sound illegal to me? The staff, including the owner is rude and arrogant and they should be reported for taking advantage of potential hotel guests! Stay as far away from this hotel as possible. They do not aim to please their clients!

After staying at the Islander Inn last year with a horrible experience we decided to try the Put-in-bay Resort. To our delight it was a excellent experience! The pool was crystal clean and the staff was happy and smiling, helpful with every question asked. The had a great continental breakfast that was better than most and had a different hot item each day we were there. They had golf carts for rent at the front dek as well as bikes. We opted for an all day rental that was $50.00 about $10.00 cheaper than other places we checked. The location was superb in that is was very quiet at night but if you wanted to be in the mix of things you just had a one block walk to the nightlife. We would reccomend the Put-in-Bay Resort Highly!
