Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet Al Ain, Steeles Tavern

A bit overpriced; I had to pay $166 USD for the nights I wanted. Restaurant service very good, Breakfast & Dinner buffet had a good selection for the price. I was a little surprized though that I had to pay 400 Dirham "Cash" security deposit at check-in. At check-out time I was told I had to wait because they didn't have any money at the reception desk. After 10-15 minutes a security guard comes with a stack of small bills (which was short several dirham) and I was told "Sorry, that's all we have in the hotel". A rather odd transaction for a 5 star hotel which left me feeling that I'd just been cheated. The hotel and facilities were smaller than I expected but the location was peaceful especially during the off-season of December. I wouldn't recommend this hotel as a final destination in the U.A.E. but if your looking for a quiet break from Dubai or Abu Dhabi this might be just the ticket
