Horrible Service
We had the most horrible service at South Point this weekend. Everything was slow... they were so overwhelmed with how many guests they had. They gave a friend's room away without any regard. The fire alarms went off 3 times, once in the middle of the night and they only offered free buffets. The buffet was so horrible that I would have been livid if we had to pay for it. Will never stay there again!

South Point is Horrible
By ,
Stay away...the beeeyotch girl that checked us in was obviously a hater, as she was very rude and never smiled. (sorry my jeans cost more than a week salary for you) Our room was OK but the construction at 7 am was unacceptable. When we called the front desk, they informed us that it was due to the construction of the pool and basically we would have to deal with it. The amenities were decent, but nothing special. A shuttle to the strip is offered, but don't bother you will wait forever. Parking sucks, and frankly it was more like a Whiskey Pete's or low bid place. I was suckered in by the nice rates and photos on-line. I frequent Las Vegas, and will never go there again. Pay a little extra, stay on the strip at Mandalay or Luxor.

Worst LV stay ever
By ,
Stayed 12/30/08-01/02/09 - King bed in new tower Check-in fine, no line, crowd, but bags would take an hour to deliver to room? Long walk to room from parking, especially with 3 days stay bags. Room was large, but only half furnished. No coffee table, no table and chairs by window (although pictured on their website). Only a single sink in large bathroom. 42" TV mounted crooked. Tattered bed linens. Nice closet with safe. Single cup coffee maker, and another long walk to get coffee if one cup doesn't cut it (no tables/chairs to sit and drink it in our room) Uncomfortably hot everywhere except the room entire duration of stay. Patrons and employees alike all were complaining. Nice big bingo parlor, easy to read number boards. Large casino with good game selection, not crowded, but what ashtrays were there were overfflowing. Not many empty glasses sitting around, but thats because having a drink served was rare. In about 25 hours of gaming, I was offered a total of 5 drinks. Hot, no drink service, and dirty gaming areas (I sat at a machine for about 3 hrs and the ashtray was never emptied, an empty drink glass and paper wrapping from a prior player never picked up, nor any server ever came around). Had 1 meal there (actually a few bites). Don Vitos opens at 5. We went at 8:30. Not busy, but were told they ran out of lasagne!!!! New Years holiday period, opened 3 1/2 hrs earlier, no crowd, and ran out of lasagne. Unreal. Substitute dish's pasta chewed like beef jerky, and both sauce and italian sausage had acidic taste. Service was horrible and phony. Waiter asked if all was good. When told 'no' he patted me on the back and said 'atta-boy' and continued walking. Never even payed attention to answer. The salad upgrade to Caesar (recommended on the menu for $1) gets you the samesalas as the regular one. No extras, just lettuce. All this was brought to the restaurant's management. Their solution, come back for a free meal. I got terribbly sick that evening from this meal and couldn't even leave the room til 2pm the next day. Needless to say, no other Southpoint eateries were visited. We drove, so being out in the middle of nowhere with little of anything within walking distance, didn't matter to us. But if you have no wheels, your stuck (the shuttle to the strip had been discontinued, to the dismay of many who booked here and were never told it had ceased operation.) If your idea of a fun time is lugging your own luggage to a partially furnished room, an uncomfortable temperature maintained on the property, an unkempt casino with the worst drink service in town, food that lays you up for half a day, uncaring staff and a location that offers you no easy escape to what LV really has to offer, stay here. If not, go anywhere else.

Playing grown up ...
By ,
As a local, I have visited most of the casino hotels (amd stayed at many) over the years. I was happy to find one so near. But this was short-lived. The service was casual, almost grudging, and the prices of drinks inflated (you get charged for a premium drink when you didn't order one). The attitude of the hotel is arrogant, but they aren't in the big leagues yet. And until management improves, they'll never be.

very pleased

I've stayed at the JW Marriott in Sumerland, Nevada and these rooms are just as nice. The Flat screen TV's were a little to dark.

It's A Joke
By ,
This was unacceptable trip. Service was decent but the hotel had many issues. The spa is not up to par nothing is operating. The buffet, I’ll rate that the most awful in Las Vegas. Location was horrible it cost us $50.00 a day for cab fair. No shuttle! The bed and pillows are so uncomfortable, they give you some thin things they call towels. Believe me when I say don’t stay there. It is infested with kids. There is no adult time at the pool. It opens at 10:00 AM and closes at 6:00 PM what gives here. If you see a bargain from the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa run the other way as fast as you can. You will be in the middle of no man’s land.

We loved it, can't wait to go back
By ,
We loved how clean and big the rooms are. The room was comfortable nice sitting area with a flat screen tv, comfortable bed we had great night sleep. We liked the fact that it was alittle off the stripe but still had that stripe feel. We used alot of the services there ex. restuarants, room service, casino, bowling, visited the hotel store, bingo and enjoyed them all. Restuarant prices were good and room service was great, and bowling after 12:00am is a dollar a game. It was nice to play hard then go right to your room. Honestly we never left the hotel. The only thing that was missing was a little refrig. Other that it was great and we will be back... Penny

Great spa
By ,
I liked the bed, 42" flatscreen tv, SPA SPA SPA, great gym, good cheap food, funbook coupon book. The price. The hotel is a great package. I did not like that the pool closed at 6:00pm. I stay at many vegas hotels and for the price this is the best deal.

Excellent place to stay!!
By ,
We spent a weekend at the South Coast Hotel. It was beautiful and clean. The rooms are huge and the view was nice. The hotel staff was very helpful as well. There is a coffee shop serving Seattles Best coffee which was good. The pool looked awesome and so did the hot tub! The casino had plenty of choices of slot machines as well as tables. Minimums on the roulette table were only $1 on a Saturday which was nice. We definately would stay there again. It is minutes from the strip which was convenient. Stay there you will not be disappointed!
