NOISY - Under construction
By ,
2/13/08: Don't stay here until late 2008 unless you want to be woken at 530am. They're adding 800 rooms and start very early! Management didn't seem to care too much either.

pretty nice place
By ,
My wife and I went to Las Vegas for the first time in May07 and stayed at South Pointe. It was very nice and clean. We did the breakfast buffet everyday we were there and it was pretty good with a very large selection. I only had one customer service issue come up and they resolved the issue. My only other complaint would be that some of the dealers/slot attendants were not very pleasant/friendly. Overall, the price was right and we liked our stay there and had a wonderful time and would stay again.

South Point
By ,
I was at the hotel from 12/29 through 1/5/08 and absolutly loved the place. If you are staying in Las Vegas and want to avoid all the traffic of the strip this is the place to stay. The staff was wonderful the food was wonderful and the cleanliness was out of this world.

Great Value for Vegas
By ,
Had to spend two weeks in Vegas on a project so this was a work/play trip at company expense. My stepdaughter and her family came up from CA for the weekend and she's a hotel junkie and found this place on the net. I must say I was very impressed. Rooms spacious, well-appointed, liked the 42" flat screen TV. Premium toiletries in bath, rooms were very clean and staff efficient and friendly. My company's travel department balked at the price which varied from 69-179 a night but it averaged out less than 100, they were impressed because it was less than a Hampton/Holiday Inn type of place. Location not a problem as I had a rental car and its close to the airport so no trouble with 8am departure. There's something for everyone here, bowling, great arcade for the kids, bingo (not that I go to Vegas to play when I can go the local VFW Post for that), and a good sports/race book. We had a blast on Saturday and Sunday afternoons watching people celebrate or cry at football results as we were betting horse races. Also the equisterian center was a change of pace with a horse show in progress (plenty of cute cowgirls in tight jeans and hats). The buffet was good, not great, but more than ample and fairly reasonable. Had a great Italian meal one evening in Don Vito's, a bit pricey but excellent service. The coffee shop was hit or miss and more than the buffet. The NY style deli was very good and appreciated the coffee and ice cream stands. Health club now free and used it most mornings to work out. $10 internet charge rediculous but there's a public library a few blocks north with free access, you can even hit it in the parking lot. This is a great value for Vegas, join the club and get the discount/freebie book.South Point is kid friendly while having plenty for the grownups too.

Good for the money
By ,
Affordable but not lacking on services. We liked the fact that the hotel was off the strip and away from the crowds. The only downside is having to take the shuttle to and from the strip. But, if you are willing to deal with waiting for the free shuttle, it's worth the extra time. Don't forget to reserve spaces on the shuttle to and from the airport. Also, until they finish with the construction, we were woken up at 7 AM each morning. Our next trip will be booked with this hotel.

Reservation is not fair or kind
By ,
My family and I were not able to enjoy the SOUTH POINT Hotel due to a family emergency. I called back within 20 minutes of making the reservation to canel and let them know we would not be able to make it and gave the reason. And they did not care. We were charged $163.50 and told "To Bad". Ms. Kane and her staff were not helpful in trying to resolve the situation. So if I planned on staying there in the near future, that would never happen. So if you make a reservation at this hotel, be aware they'll take your money before your stay.

Had a blast
By ,
We stayed in the standard room on the 24th floor on 11/11 -11/13. It was amazing!Clean big, and large. We arrived at 10 am. Most big hotels make you wait until the afternoon before they allow you to check in.. Not here. The food from the buffet was as good as any fine dinning. If there was any draw back it would be it's off the strip location. However, there is a free shuttle to the strip. I recomend you stay heer. You will love it

Great Off Strip Casino and Resort
By ,
I have never had a bad experience at South Point. Service, comfort, convenience, food and gaming is always great. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable. The views of the desert are breath taking. Being off strip is very relaxing but you are only a few minutes from the strip and all the activity.I have stayed here three times in the last 14 months and I will be returning again soon.

We look forward to visiting again in 2008
By ,
The South Coast Resort Hotel was located only a short drive away from the hustle and bustle of the bright lights of the strip, outlet stores and eating places. The casino was great, not to overpowering and the staff looked after us brilliantly. Not only were the restaurants excellent value for money but the variety and quality of food served surpassed our expectations. The styandard of the rooms were of a very high standard and our mountain views were wonderful especially when the sun rose and set every day.The bowling alley was of competition standard and the garden and swimming pool area was a lovely place to relax during the day if you didnt want to gamble. The Spa experience was heaven, nothing was to much trouble for the staff, were very attentive and everything was done to make it a memorable occasion. We will definitely be visiting the South Coast Resort Hotel and Spa on our next vacation to Las Vegas
