Affordable option near the STIP
By ,
It was OK stay. For the price can not complain about anything. Stayed there on Monday night only. There is a shuttle service to the STRIP ($8 round trip) which goes every hour. It was very convenient because we just wanted to see a show and it took us right where we had to be. Bathroom was big, room was clean. The beds were not so comfortable but that is minor. All in all satisfied with service received.

I love it here
By ,
The rooms are 500sq. feet with a 42" flat screen and the toilet is separate from the bathroom. Great room service and a fun book with 2 free buffets and a bottle of wine. The store has great beer and wine prices comperable to a grocery store and cheaper than a liqour store. I actually win money here. Sign up for free rooms and internet savings. Will be back this year. Not a lot of drunken youngsters walking around, movies, bowling alley and plenty places to eat.

Been to Vegas before, this is old school value
By ,
Just got back, this is my first stay at this hotel. I will go back. The rooms are a good size. My room was clean and modern. Nothing fancy here but a good value. The casino was big with a large modern sports book and seperate race book. Both had a bar nearby with a lounge with padded chairs. Just outside of these is a chicago style vienna hot dog stand with dogs for 75 cents. What a deal. Beer at the bars were $3/bottle (compared to $6 on the strip). The Coronado Cafe was good, very good service, and some good deals. All day a 16 oz. porterhouse with sides for 12.99. At night there are the graveyard specials that remind me of old vegas. Check out their menus online at their website. The pool isn't large but not overly crowded. I'm 50 so I don't want the pool "club" that all the hotels are pushing now. The location is the downfall. Approx. 4 miles from the strip, but there is a shuttle bus for $8 r/t, or the publice bus for $7 per day. I take the bus, very convenient, it has a stop in the parking lot just outside the casino doors. FYI look at RTC las vegas and the route is 117, connecting to the Duece or Strip Downtown Express. Overall this is not a place to impress someone because it's not on the strip, but if you want a nice casino, rooms and places to eat and drink while not spending the family fortune consider this hotel.

Don't stay here !
By ,
Security is poor and theft is rampant. Had purse wallet stolen and heard from others who had cars, trailers and various items stolen. Security seems to think the theft is between you and your insurance company. No help despite the "eye in the sky" .

Great hotel!
By ,
I love this place. It's away from the strip and has everything you need. Sign up for thier players card and emails and you get discounts like free rooms or $35.00 a night like I'm getting this April. The room his huge and the room service is great! When you get condiments they come in real glass bottles! They have a funbook just like old Vegas too. I actually won money there too! It's better for the crowd that's tired of the crowed strip or downtown. If your really young and like a lot of noise stay away.

Best value in Vegas
By ,
I have stayed at the SP four times now, and have yet to be disappointed. The restaurants are great, the rooms are spacious and the price is right. The staff seems genuinely happy that you have chosen their hotel and casino and treat you as such. I will definitely be staying here again.

This is where we will always stay!
By ,
This was very affordable and clean. The staff was friendly. Although it is far from the strip, it was very comfortable and we felt safe. The pool and hot tub were amazing. we are going back soon.

We are on our way back again.
By ,
Love the large rooms and there is room to turn around in the bathrooms. I'm not much into buffets but my wife and daughter were okay with it. The check-in process was a little slow but once in the room we were very pleased. When I am in Vegas this is where I will be staying.

Horrible Service
We had the most horrible service at South Point this weekend. Everything was slow... they were so overwhelmed with how many guests they had. They gave a friend's room away without any regard. The fire alarms went off 3 times, once in the middle of the night and they only offered free buffets. The buffet was so horrible that I would have been livid if we had to pay for it. Will never stay there again!
