I will not return--
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/7/11
Let me start by saying I have never written a review on anything. I write this with the hope that someone else will not book this resort with great expectations, only to arrive to disorganized staff, overcrowded amenities, and unresponsive management. If I had paid $100/night I would of had no issues with the service I rcvd but considering we paid $300/night I feel the service was POOR @ best. I did not know this was first, a time share, second, a "beach club", third, a golf club", fourth, and last a nightly resort. Therefore they have their members, timeshare owners, and guests competing for the use of the amenities. You wear armbands to identify which you are. Members and owners get reserved seating, and umbrellas @ amenities and beach, so the guests are allowed to the leftovers, if there is any.... The pictures of the pools/amenities online are not accurate. The do have a lot of pools but they are extrememly small, and over crowded. The largest pool, has 1/2 roped off for people coming off the slide. They have bell men in golf carts that are provided to take you to/from the resort b/c the villas (the 3b2ba condo) are located outside of the main hotel. Online they state the villas, are a "short jaunt" from the main hotel/amenities. MY family and many other families at the villas disagree. One day, we called for a golf cart from the beach back to our room, they said they were not accepting requests for pick up b/c they were "slammed". Other times we called for a golf cart and they would tell us it will be there in 10 minutes, we would wait outside many times and they would never come- or come in 30-40 minutes. When we called for info, no one knew anything, the mgrs were unable to be located and I still have yet to hear from any mgrs. We travel every couple of months and this is by far, one of the worst service vs. money weve ever experienced. I'm not suggesting you not stay here, just consider what amenities you plan to use, how busy/what time of year your going and how much your paying. On a good note, The villas are VERY spacious, and are decorated beautifully. The kitchen has everything you could ever need. Housekeeping provides plenty of linens, towels, etc daily.

the service and management is a joke
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/9/10
We booked their 4 bedroom hotel suite a month in advance. Once arriving from out.of state we were told the room was not available and that we would have to take a 3 bedroom. They mentioned that the owner took the four bedroom and we have no other choice since it was the only 4 bedroom. When we asked for management they pawned us off to Jackie Neil , Sr Catering Manager told us she could do nothing to help with the room. The concierge also was of no help. I am am a seasoned traveler and have never experienced such disregard for patrons in all my life. No hospitality and no effort to make the situation right. I would make sure when you book a room at this place that it isn't a multi bedroom.

Great place for a retreat
By R, 9/27/10
I just got back yesterday from a women's retreat sponsored by the women's ministry at my church. Everyone had a great time! This was actually the 2nd year in a row that our women's retreat was held here - those who came last year and this year loved it just as much as those who came for the 1st time this year! We stayed at the The Club at Hammock Beach. The accomodations were beautiful and well-kept - we had over 150 women at the retreat and we had 3-bedroom suites with 4-5 women in each. In ours, we had a nice view of the ocean as well as the golf course and a little courtyard. The suites were very spacious with plenty of room to spread out and then some. Our sessions took place in the Atlantic Ballroom, which was really nice and more than enough room for everyone. I had a massage at the spa and was in heaven! I definitely recommend the 80-minute Hammock massage! The Ocean Cafe was a cute little poolside restaurant - I enjoyed the cheeseburger I ordered. I also went to the fitness center, which had state-of-the-art equipment - I enjoyed my workout in there. Overall, I loved this place!! I even recommended it to my parents as a place they could come for vacation. It would also be a great family getaway. I didn't see a lot of kids except on Saturday at the pool, and even then it wasn't exactly swarming with kids, which was great since I really was not in the mood for all that. It probably also helped that we went at the end of September in the off-peak vacation season. This resort would also be a great venue for a wedding. We saw the setup for a wedding be held while we were there and it was beautiful. I will definitely be back for a vacation, and highly recommend Hammock Beach to others as well!

Best Place Ever!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/15/10
My husband booked us in the ocean towers and it was amazing from the time we arrived. There was vinking stove and all other appliance were as well, not to mention granit was everywhere. We had front loader washer and dryer. Decor was great.. Ipod docking, spa jet tub and seperate shower in master bed room. Flat screens were in every room. Ocean and golf view and they offer private pools with ocean towers and were always empty. This is a very big resort and you must go thru a toll for 2bucks so get all you need, Belive it or not if you leave resort you have to come back through toll but only down side to this place. My family will be back for sure..

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/11/09
We were there for our 50th wedding anniversary,With all our children their spouses, and our grand children 24 of us. We had 3 4bedroom condos, very beautiful, lots of room for everyone. The restaurants were great.Even the snack bar at the pool, wonderful! The beach ,pool all the outdoor area very beautiful. It was Easter break so it was crowded, but very family friendly. Our children planned a special dinner celebration,we were provided with a beautiful private room. The staff were so very helpful.

WON'T BE BACK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/09
pool to small. Can never get a chair at pool or beach unless your there at 9a.m. Everything is too expensive. Maid service is awful. 5p.m. Room still not cleaned and when they come they just put in the towels and leave.they due the bare minium. Staff is very nice except for the front desk people. They give alot of wrong information.not really sure why they call it a resort. There is nothing to do. Not enough pools for the size of the complex. Food has alot to be desired. A new chef might be in order. Really new management might be a better move. You need to go to a real resort and see how they treat people and the things they have of interest. Also don't you think that $28.00 is alot for a buffet? You nickle and dime people to death.just not worth it. Won't be back.

Honeymoon Over!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/18/08
At $998 for 4 nights you would think you could have some fun here,, but nope! I am in room 533 as I type, I was told there was a nightclub/bar here nope just a bar,& 2 very badly mixed rumrunners=$25.00,"could not finish" I was also told this was in daytona area "not close", Jacksonville 1hour north or more. our time is being passed by cleaning our room and watching a tv with no movies just less than basic cable. you can leave for free but you have to pay $2 to come back every time"toll road". sunglasses here $309 @ the still overpriced sunglasses hut in the mall $159. I have got no help from the front desk and have made 3 calls and 2 trips down myself Its very easy to see we are very low on the hotels food chain. everyone is so sorry but just cant think of how to fix this.I called here 2 times when I booked just to check that this would not happen and there would not be a lack of things to do here.THESE PEOPLE HERE! had me think this was a 4 star hotel with attractions on all sides or at least stuff to do. outright LIE! I have begged for 2 days to help me save this trip but i have been turned away every time I ask. this is a very nice place with small waterpark and large golf park, yard, thing whatever its called, would make a great retirement village. I just called the desk 1 more time. phyllis, "the most caring so far" says she can't find anyone in charge she has sent 3 e-mails to the head of concierge with no reply she has also left him voicemail with no reply THIS IS A NO FUN NO HELP RESORT when you get here you will find you are next to nothing!....BE HELPFUL, TURN YOUR FRIENDS AWAY FROM HERE........DJMerck...COG-ATL

Not a bad place for a medical meeting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/7/08
I attended a medical conference for 5 days at the resort. I had read several reviews before we left so I was expecting a little less quality than when the resort 1st opened. Due to a Senior's PGA event that ended the day we arrived we stayed " off site " at the marina. Our 2 bedroom condo was great-very roomy for us and 2 grandkids. I took a shuttle to the main resort every am for my meeting and never waited more than 5 minutes to be picked up. In the pm's we'd drive to the main resort (2 minutes ) and utilize their facilities ( ie the water slide, pools, and the Ocean Golf Course ). We found every thing to be well cared for and all of the staff was very courteous ( with no tipping it takes playing favorites out of the equation ). My only complaint was that you are charged for maid service and clean towels each day even though we only asked for new towels mid-week and with 2 grandkids we didn't feel cleaning every day was worth it ( also there is a card asking you to help conserve water so they discourage new towels daily but still charge $30+ per day for the daily maid). All in all this was a good vacation/meeting combined and the resort is well above average. RW

Attended March '08 convention
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/1/08
My husband and I attended a convention along with about 150 other people in our group. While the staff were very friendly and helpful there were many problems they had no control over such as design problems in the building. The individual AC units for each room were located in the bedroom closet so it was impossible to sleep with the AC on at night. There are no grab bars in the bathroom area, not even in the shower. I assume Florida building codes are not as strict as the rest of the nation? There are only 2 restaurants and one bar that serve dinner ...... you have to drive to Flagler Beach for dinner, thank goodness for the nearby Publix to buy meals to prepare in your room. The pool areas were very crowded and they should have a system where you deposit your used towel in a laundry cart when you depart instead of leaving it draped on the pool chairs where no one knows if the lounge chair is being used or not. Also lots of kids in the "adults only" pool. On the positive side, the beach is beautiful.
