A great time, would love to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/11/09
We were there for our 50th wedding anniversary,With all our children their spouses, and our grand children 24 of us. We had 3 4bedroom condos, very beautiful, lots of room for everyone. The restaurants were great.Even the snack bar at the pool, wonderful! The beach ,pool all the outdoor area very beautiful. It was Easter break so it was crowded, but very family friendly. Our children planned a special dinner celebration,we were provided with a beautiful private room. The staff were so very helpful.

WON'T BE BACK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/29/09
POOL TO SMALL. CAN NEVER GET A CHAIR AT POOL OR BEACH UNLESS YOUR THERE AT 9A.M. EVERYTHING IS TOO EXPENSIVE. MAID SERVICE IS AWFUL. 5P.M. ROOM STILL NOT CLEANED AND WHEN THEY COME THEY JUST PUT IN THE TOWELS AND LEAVE.THEY DUE THE BARE MINIUM. STAFF IS VERY NICE EXCEPT FOR THE FRONT DESK PEOPLE. THEY GIVE ALOT OF WRONG INFORMATION.NOT REALLY SURE WHY THEY CALL IT A RESORT. THERE IS NOTHING TO DO. NOT ENOUGH POOLS FOR THE SIZE OF THE COMPLEX. FOOD HAS ALOT TO BE DESIRED. A NEW CHEF MIGHT BE IN ORDER. REALLY NEW MANAGEMENT MIGHT BE A BETTER MOVE. YOU NEED TO GO TO A REAL RESORT AND SEE HOW THEY TREAT PEOPLE AND THE THINGS THEY HAVE OF INTEREST. ALSO DON'T YOU THINK THAT $28.00 IS ALOT FOR A BUFFET? YOU NICKLE AND DIME PEOPLE TO DEATH.JUST NOT WORTH IT. WON'T BE BACK.

Honeymoon Over!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/18/08
At $998 for 4 nights you would think you could have some fun here,, but nope! I am in room 533 as I type, I was told there was a nightclub/bar here nope just a bar,& 2 very badly mixed rumrunners=$25.00,"could not finish" I was also told this was in daytona area "not close", Jacksonville 1hour north or more. our time is being passed by cleaning our room and watching a tv with no movies just less than basic cable. you can leave for free but you have to pay $2 to come back every time"toll road". sunglasses here $309 @ the still overpriced sunglasses hut in the mall $159. I have got no help from the front desk and have made 3 calls and 2 trips down myself Its very easy to see we are very low on the hotels food chain. everyone is so sorry but just cant think of how to fix this.I called here 2 times when I booked just to check that this would not happen and there would not be a lack of things to do here.THESE PEOPLE HERE! had me think this was a 4 star hotel with attractions on all sides or at least stuff to do. outright LIE! I have begged for 2 days to help me save this trip but i have been turned away every time I ask. this is a very nice place with small waterpark and large golf park, yard, thing whatever its called, would make a great retirement village. I just called the desk 1 more time. phyllis, "the most caring so far" says she can't find anyone in charge she has sent 3 e-mails to the head of concierge with no reply she has also left him voicemail with no reply THIS IS A NO FUN NO HELP RESORT when you get here you will find you are next to nothing!....BE HELPFUL, TURN YOUR FRIENDS AWAY FROM HERE........DJMerck...COG-ATL

Not a bad place for a medical meeting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/07/08
I attended a medical conference for 5 days at the resort. I had read several reviews before we left so I was expecting a little less quality than when the resort 1st opened. Due to a Senior's PGA event that ended the day we arrived we stayed " off site " at the marina. Our 2 bedroom condo was great-very roomy for us and 2 grandkids. I took a shuttle to the main resort every am for my meeting and never waited more than 5 minutes to be picked up. In the pm's we'd drive to the main resort (2 minutes ) and utilize their facilities ( ie the water slide, pools, and the Ocean Golf Course ). We found every thing to be well cared for and all of the staff was very courteous ( with no tipping it takes playing favorites out of the equation ). My only complaint was that you are charged for maid service and clean towels each day even though we only asked for new towels mid-week and with 2 grandkids we didn't feel cleaning every day was worth it ( also there is a card asking you to help conserve water so they discourage new towels daily but still charge $30+ per day for the daily maid). All in all this was a good vacation/meeting combined and the resort is well above average. RW

Attended March '08 convention
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/01/08
My husband and I attended a convention along with about 150 other people in our group. While the staff were very friendly and helpful there were many problems they had no control over such as design problems in the building. The individual AC units for each room were located in the bedroom closet so it was impossible to sleep with the AC on at night. There are no grab bars in the bathroom area, not even in the shower. I assume Florida building codes are not as strict as the rest of the nation? There are only 2 restaurants and one bar that serve dinner ...... you have to drive to Flagler Beach for dinner, thank goodness for the nearby Publix to buy meals to prepare in your room. The pool areas were very crowded and they should have a system where you deposit your used towel in a laundry cart when you depart instead of leaving it draped on the pool chairs where no one knows if the lounge chair is being used or not. Also lots of kids in the "adults only" pool. On the positive side, the beach is beautiful.

Beautiful place for a nice relaxing vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/08
Spectacular service!! Felt like a King & Queen staying at this resort. The room was astonishingly beautiful, spacious and clean. The traditional setting was extremely relaxing. Do not recommend the food at the resort, but the resort is in the middle of nowhere...

Great for quiet relaxation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/07
My expectations were surpassed when I arrived at the resort. It was soo beautiful. It was like stepping into heaven. It was an oasis I could totally relax and enjoy the beauty for a few days and really "get away from it all". The size of the rooms and the facility surpassed my expectation. I was there for a family reunion and the condos were big enough to entertain our family for a family breakfast we planned. The staff were wonderful and friendly. The facility was clean and beautiful. The only damper on my whole stay was when I first arrived and the man at the guard gate asked me if my parking permit (that was given to me by the facility) was real. I suppose I did not fit the profile of who he thought would stay there. Those types of assumptions have no place in todays world and has the potential to have longterm negative financial effects.

The Good and Bad
By Gabrielle, 04/08/07
My family of 5 just returned from Hammock Beach. We stayed in a 3 bedroom, 3bath suite which had a kitchen, laundry room and 3 balconies. It was beautiful!!! Probably will never stay in a nicer room. Staff was very nice. Resteraunt service could be a little better. There were a lot of kids activities with mini golf, bikes, bonfires, etc. There is a large courtyard area where kids could play baseball, kickball, bocce ball, etc. The kids loved that. The beach is a bit of a walk and a seemigly farther walk to the restroom. No beach service for food/drink. The beach is nice but there are large rocks that can't be seen unless the tide is low. Also, there were many jellyfish on the beach. Although we loved the resort and our vacation, we probably won't return only beacuse of the food choices. The resteraunts are very upscale and expensive. It would be nice if they had a food court type place to get a hot dog, nachos, soda or just more "normal" beach/pool food. We did have a car, so we left and went out to dinner each night. Once I left the beach and took 45 min. to get Wendys and brought it back to the beach. Beautiful resort that is very well cared for. We did have good but odd times for maid service. Our room was cleaned once at 10am and the next day at 7pm??

Very nice resort
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/07
We visited the Club @ Hammock Beach for a weekend get-away in Mar.'07 and found it to be a very nice luxury resort. The resort was preparing to host the Ginn Open @ Hammock beach for the Champions tour so there was a lot of activity around the resort in preparation for the tournament. The resort did seem a bit strained to accomodate all of the variables involved with hosting the nearly week long event. We had to wait 2+ hours after arrival to get into our unit, we did not receive housekeeping one day util after 5:30? We requested massages at the spa 1 week before arrival but no go? We were told there was not enough staff to accomodate us? These were fairly minor issues,we found the 1 bedroom suite to be very, very nice. The unit was oceanfront, very roomy and nicely appointed. The staff was generally friendly and helpful. I will say the bed & breakfast package is good one, the breakfasts from the seaside grill are above average. The large pool complex is very nice and offers something for everyone. The pool complex was crowded with kids, more than I expected, but there are separate areas for kids, adults, etc.. so it's not a problem to find a spot to relax. The location is secluded and "out of the way" so you will likely be driving to go to dinner a few times?
