Not a palace, but its not supposed to be one.
By Randell, 01/14/10
Very clean and very quiet. Close to the Air Force Base. Stayed 4 days including New Years Eve and other than just a few firecrackers, easily got to sleep. Staff was friendly and helpful. Granted, it's not the Taj Mahal, but for what you pay, its a nice place to stay. I've stayed at worse and paid more. If you want a clean, quiet room with all the necessities, this is one to consider.

Dont ever visit this place
By air force mom, 03/15/09
We had a commode stopup for 2 days and I was offered a plunger to fix it myself. We got only 2 towels dasily and sheets on bed had holes in them. We stayed 4 dayed and never got clean beds. After I had checked out of the hotel and got home they charged my debit card, without my knowledge or approval, for a 50.00 pet charge. The dog never stayed at the hotel, only came with me to collect items. We had an rv at the Lackland Air Force RV park where the dog stayed. I was never even approached by hotel personnel about him or they would have known, not even at checkout. The front desk never answered the phone at night as the kid was outside with friends on the phone. I always had to walk down even for thr sewage problem. I had 2 88 year ladies with me, no dogs. They are all extremely rude and make no apologies for their actions.Managers name is David Patel. Hopefully he doesn't make a habit of illegally using peoples debit cards. I still haven't received a refund. Please don't patronize this establishment. No one deserves this treatment when you are there to celebrate your loved one joining the military. Maybe that means nothing to them, just get their money whether legally or not.

Not that great!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/21/07
I know they have a new owner and they are trying to do some inprovements BUT They said we were gonna get a recently remodeled room with everything new !! The only thing new was the carpet which was strange our feet still got a little black on them. The whole room felt greasy !! The bed was nasty and we couldnt sleep cause everything was so filthy plus killing spiders and other bug through out the day didnt help!! They also forgot our towels and eveything else that goes in a bathroom !! And it seems like the whole area around it is kinda nasty .. We hated it .. We had to move there was no way I was gonna stay in that nasty room for 3 weeks its pretty bad when your 2 year old even says " Momma this room is dirty "

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/07
This hotel isnt recommended to animals not to talk to human. Very old, dirty, and i couldnt sleep because they had bugs in the room and holes in which they hide. Its ridiculous and i rate this hotel a zero.

Horrible HORRIBLE experience!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/16/07
We had a horrific experience at this place that, ironically, also involved the front desk clerk named Julie asking for MORE MONEY at check in time. She was rude and disrespectful and not helpful at all. The room was very dirty and dark with very dirty carpet and floors. The bathroom was awful and we cleaned ours before we could even use it. The parking lot is TOTALLY DARK at night and not safe at all because of the area. I would never stay there again even if someone PAID me to. I don't recommend this place to ANYONE, nor would I recommend Julie for a job anywhere. I think she rips off customers when they come in and some don't even realize it. She needs to be fired and the place needs to be totally cleaned up and remodeled. After that, maybe they could make a go of it.

The WORST place on EARTH.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/15/07
This was the absolute WORST experience of my life. Anyone with half a brain cell should NEVER CONSIDER STAYING at the Econo Lodge Lackland. The bad experience was added to by the total rude attitude of the front desk clerk "Julie". Julie lied about the initial rate, tried to demand more money upon our arrival and was totally rude and inconsiderate to our needs. To add insult to injury, the room was UNBELIEVABLY DIRTY with obvious fecal matter on the LID of the toilet, dirty bathtub, the works. One or two towels thrown into the dark, dank room did not help matters, and the entire room smelled of cigarette smoke. The parking lot is dark and scary at night, and this place would only be good for ONE THING. Filming of a horror movie comes to mind.
