Great place to have a "base camp" for Alaska roadtrips
The service was adequate.... an extended stay hotel, they do not provide room service daily. About the fourth day of your stay, they come in and provide fresh towels and maybe vacuum. They did not change the sheets or remake the bed.
The rooms were perfect. They were very clean and sizable. There is a separate room for the bedroom with it's own TV, and a larger room with a loveseat/TV sitting area and the kitchen. Kitchens seemed fairly well-equipped, although we didn't cook much, just made coffee.
The location was fine. Anchorage is not that large, so it was a short drive anywhere within the city (5-15 min). The hotel is situated right by the highway, so it was easy access for our road trips. There's a great local (Russian-owned) restaurant a short walk away; we went there for breakfast several times. Also a McDonald's immediately next door.
At $49 per night, we paid for eight days and used the hotel as a "base camp" as we travelled in and out of Anchorage to Seward, Talkeetna, Fairbanks, Tok, etc.... Nice to have a place to leave behind some things, and not have to check in and out each time we stopped in Anchorage.
