I don't know where the other people stayed?
By Roadkill, 7/14/09
I don't know where the other people stayed but it was not the extended stay deluxe anchorage downtown. i had to leave there a few nights ago because it was so filthy the parking lot was cleaner than the rooms. They quoted my company $129 a night and then charged $145. my friends decided to stay there until yesterday when the found a needle in the parking lot. one of the hotel staff comes by every few hours knocking on the 1st floor room checking to see who is is the room to make sure they are supposed to be there. when i checked in the windows where unlocked and open on the first floor. the mooses tooth right across the street was not that bad. overall the place is not somewhere i would want to stay ever again or even think about taking my family there.

Excellent Place to Stay!!
By Mary, 1/3/07
These folks were great. Arrived mid summer on a medical from a village in the panhandle, wonderful staff for directions, places to eat, extending my stay. Very easy to Provedince Hosp. Awsome pizza and micro brew beer just across a parking lot at the Mosoes Tooth. Great location, nice room, excellent wireless, ok laundry facilities. Will stay there again!

If you don't mind the service...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/05
The hotel is new and the rooms are large, if can stand the service it is a good place to stay. If you have ever stayed at an extended stay hotel you can expect the usual. Garbage is removed weekly and towels are replaced every few days. Not too bad, the price is worth managing a few extra chores. What I had not expected was the staff. I expected Aspen Suites staff to be knowledgeable of their environment, courteous, and helpful.

Completely Happy!
By Jeff H, 3/30/07
My company sent me to Anchorage for 13 weeks and I was originally scheduled to stay at this hotel for just a week, and I was supposed to move out of ESA and go to a furnished condo for the remaining 12 weeks. I checked into the ESA in Anchorage on a Sat night (late) and I was just awestruck when I saw how nicely furnished & spacious my room was. The hotel staff is very polite, courteous and helpful, especially the manager "Rinah" as well as my friend from Jamaica "BC". My room is a suite of 3 rooms= kitchen/living room, bathroom and separate bedroom. The living room has a large TV with 3 channel of Showtime and a DVD player. The bedroom has another TV. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator and microwave, plus a 2-burner stove and coffeemaker. The cabinets are well stocked with plates, cups, bowls, glasses, etc...and the drawers have all the utensils. If you need to grocery shop, I suggest Carrs which is next to Sears...it's basically a Safeway. I've been a healthcare traveler professionally for 10+ years and I've been all over the US so I've become a pretty good judge of hotels, inns, motels, etc...and this one in Anchorage is GREAT !

Excellent Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/16/06
Kudos to the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. From finding a rental car to the best places to eat and shop they all had time and genial on-the-money information. Our rooms were clean and well maintained, convienient to all major locations. Pet and kid friendly. Disappointments: The internet connection was horrible, worse than dial-up. Getting washclothes was a hassle for several days. And the hot tub was not available due to remodeling. No pool either. Overall great stay.Looking forward to our next trip.

Great place to have a \"base camp\" for Alaska roadtrips
By Diana, 5/18/05
The service was adequate.... an extended stay hotel, they do not provide room service daily. About the fourth day of your stay, they come in and provide fresh towels and maybe vacuum. They did not change the sheets or remake the bed. The rooms were perfect. They were very clean and sizable. There is a separate room for the bedroom with it's own TV, and a larger room with a loveseat/TV sitting area and the kitchen. Kitchens seemed fairly well-equipped, although we didn't cook much, just made coffee. The location was fine. Anchorage is not that large, so it was a short drive anywhere within the city (5-15 min). The hotel is situated right by the highway, so it was easy access for our road trips. There's a great local (Russian-owned) restaurant a short walk away; we went there for breakfast several times. Also a McDonald's immediately next door. At $49 per night, we paid for eight days and used the hotel as a "base camp" as we travelled in and out of Anchorage to Seward, Talkeetna, Fairbanks, Tok, etc.... Nice to have a place to leave behind some things, and not have to check in and out each time we stopped in Anchorage.
