Megara Hotel Istanbul, Istanbul

My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. They do of course promote their own restaurant when asked but overall they are very helpful. More than happy to give over the front desk if you want to use their internet. The rooms are small but clean. The only thing I would advise, if you are an early riser, is to have some way of heating water and some instant coffee in the room so you can have a coffee when you wake up since there is no room service and nothing is open until 8 or 9. The rooms do have small fridges though so you can stock your own juice and stuff which is quite nice. Our room had twin beds but the staff had no problem with pushing the beds together and supplying double bed linens. We definitely plan to return to this hotel this year.

This hotel was reasonably priced and in an excellent location in SultanAhmet. We were able to walk to all of the main tourist attractions and taxi fares to other areas such as Glateras was very cheap. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel room was cleaned daily by a lovely lady. The only gripe would be that staff seemed reluctant to advise us of where to eat. They were keen for us to eat in their restaurant. Restaurants in the locality are not that great, but Hamdi nearby is very good as are so many others. I would recommend this hotel to others. Great price, location and staff.
