Hotel Carabela Beach Resort, Punta Cana

Do NOT stay at this place....here is a list of things that went wrong.. When we checked into the hotel the staff seemed friendly, the gave us our room keys and my bf and u headed right to the room after a long day of traveling...When we opened the door we realized that there were people that were sleeping on the and had not even checked out...They decided to upgrade our room to a loft style apt which was a some what ocean view...What a gross mess, the bathroom tub was super dirty along with the hotel walls....Tv was from the 80's and the AC never worked...Food was not good and the drinks were watered down..the casino was super small ...the beach was beautiful other than the constant beach stalkers...Spend the extra cash and stay at a better place...trust me on this one.....

My husband and i were very upset with this resort. The staff was very rude, we paid extra for the upgraded room and they gave us a hard time at first they refused and put us in a standard room(which was disgusting there was mold everywhere the batthrooms were dirty and unsanitary, the television did not work and the ac did not work). We finally got into our upgraded room and it did not look like the upgraded room on the website. The fully stocked mini bar that was included in the upgrade only had a gallon of water, they refused to stock our mini bar with booze. When we were on the beach we were constantly approached by solicitors trying to sell things, it felt like every five minutes we were being approached. The food was terrible and cold most of the time. We were very excited when we read online about this resort, we never imagined it to have turned out the way it did. My husband and i do not reccomend this resort at all, we hope that you read this review and think twice before booking with Club Caraela Beach Resort and Casino.

I just want to warn anyone who is looking at staying here. Our flight was delayed one day and the airline put 158 of us up at this place. No wonder it had vacant rooms. I warn you do not go there. In our room the ceiling was about to fall down in the bathroom, our pillows smelled like mold, we were afriad to sleep under the covers so used our clothes as pillows. The shower had no hot water, i showered in shoes. Our balcony door had no lock and we were on the first floor. We had a disco club and construction right outside our window. When we asked to be moved, we were rudely told no other rooms were open (ya right). The food was subpar, the tablecloths dirty. The security guard standing at the beach was carrying s shot gun, that should say it all. People were feeding stray cats in the dining room. Next time I get stuck in a tropical paradise, I'm NOT letting the airline dictate where I say. I'll pay to go back to my hotel. Ugh!

I was recently at Carabela Beach Resort and we enjoyed our stay, the food was good and the service. We enjoyed the beach and the pool. The most imporant to us was the security. The had secutiry at the beach and close to our rooms. The employees are friendly and they have different good restaurant so you can eat different type of food every night. There are shows every night or you can go to the Disco or the Casino y you want. I defently will go back.

Dislikes- Our room in the 10 units was bad. It had a punch hole in the ceiling near the sliding doors. The bathroom ceiling was ready to fall down.The whole room needed painting. The food and drink were sub par. The beach and sun were great. If I was there for 2 weeks, I would have flown home after a week. We went in January 08.

I went with my family there last year. The best thing in the hotel is that it had 3 swimming pools. the second was not busy, so we enjoyed it. The food is not the best. The drinks are OK, but they are all canned. The rooms are clean but not the best. You need to tip to have it taken care of. Beach is OK and next to the hotel there is a small village where you can go shopping, however, it is horrible to bargain with the locals. Kids club is terrible, nothing is there, night shows are OK.
