Parkview Hotel Sydney, Sydney

This hotel is an absolute filthy pest ridden dump. I would personally risk it sleeping on a park bench in the park opposite than lay my head down on one of their filthy disgusting beds in the windowless prison cell room. The linen is dirty, smelly and very very old. It stinks. Nothing works including the air conditioner and phone to reception. You need to hike down a couple of flights of stairs to even talk to reception just to ask them to turn air conditioner on as they keep the remote control, then you discover it does not even work! The filthy mould ridden dirty bathroom smells like a urinal in a pub and I went to a public toilet rather than use it. We were heading out for an evening at a concert, dinner and then some drinking afterwards, to head back for some rest before driving home after a nice breakfast in the morning. Instead, we spent an hour before concert ringing every hotel so we could get the hell out of here only to find there was not a room left in Sydney. Now out of time, we headed to concert etc.........then sat in a shop waiting for the breathaliser to let us know we could at least drive home and not have to stay in this disgusting hotel. We arrived back at hotel and asked for our car, which was blocked in by two other vehicles. The young lad told us we would have to move the two other guests vehicles if we wanted our car as he did not have a licence. (If you use the carpark here, they will insist on having your car keys!!) We moved the other guests cars and promptly left! I wonder who had driven our vehicle while we were out.......and upon making a dash to our room to grab our bags and run AWAY as fast as we could....the management had put the rat traps out in the hallways (2am) for the huge rat problem they apparently have......these were not out when we checked in. When grabbing our bags we noticed that the roof had leaked while we were away, all over my toiletries bag. This place should be called the HORROR HOTEL and you would be an absolute fool to book here......we absolutely regretted it and could not even bring ourselves to sit or lay on the bed......which was a mattress on the floor. LAST WARNING............DO NOT EVEN CONTEMPLATE THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place should not be allowed to be called a Hotel, it is more like a hostel, dingy, dark, smelly and flea ridden. As per the other review (2 years ago!) it was unclean, no covers on beds, small tv and filthy bathroom. The parking offered is more like fitting sardines into a can, having to leave your keys at the front desk so that they can move it when the need arose!!!!!!!!! There is no lift, so impractical for those with children. DEFINATELY not worth what they charge, in my opinion, only suitable if you have no money and no other options
