A Place at the Beach, Atlantic Beach

Booked through Beach Vacation Properites -- will not use them again. The actual room was okay, dated, but clean. Initially the rental company was great to work with as we were working with a time crunch. What a disappointment when we got there. First of all it was cold and took several hours to warm up from 55 degrees. There also wasn't any hot water -- discovered the breaker had been turned off. It wouldn't have been a big deal, except that we weren't informed of this and had to figure it out ourselves. Also was very disappointed that neither the indoor pool or the hot tub were available. That was one of the main reasons I chose this particular spot. Also there was some major "waste disposal" going on at the beach, fences and heavy equipment made it impossible to get to the beach without walking 10 min. or so to get around the fence. We were also told that there would be started paper towels, dish soap, and trash bags. There were none. Went to fix supper the first night and the dishes were dusty and dirty (I'm assuming since it was winter it had been a while since they were used) but we had nothing to wash them with - so it mean another trip to get soap. Again -- not a terrible place to stay, but for the price I was expecting all the amennities to be as stated. I would suggest at the very least that if you want to stay there do NOT use beach vacation properties. Go through another rental agency. FYI -- they haven't returned any of my emails or phone calls addressing my complaints.

We wanted to relax and spend time on the beach. What a terrific place this is. Lots to do with 2 pools, slides for everyone, whirlpools and even an elevator. Of course the best part is the beach; clean and relaxing. Nearby MHC and Beaufort have great restaurants and shops to explore and Fort Macon is also interesting. We plan to go back often.

We wanted a place to relax and have some sandy fun. A Place at the Beach came through with lots of amenities. The outdoor pool and slide was great for everyone and the beach is beautiful with tons of shells to find and great surf to ride. Sure it is not brand new but everyone loved it and everything was clean and bright inside. It felt like home.

We loved it! The outdoor pool with waterslide was great for our 8 year old son and us. Everyone along the pool was super friendly! The amenities are great with an indoor pool for rainy days, basketball & tennis court, shuffle board, playground and lots of grilling areas. It is great for a family with lots of activities; this has become our favorite vacation spot in Atlantic Beach. We rented our condo through a local real estate company, Cannon & Gruber, REALTORS. Their staff was friendly from the start and throughout plus eager to make our stay enjoyable. The condo was nicely furnished and extremely clean, linens that were provided were clean. The complex is well maintained and the grounds are impeccable. We will definitely rent again through Cannon & Gruber and stay at A Place at the Beach!

JP On arrival wewere disappointed in the lack of cleanliness , there was sand in bathroom floors and 11 dead roaches and one live one in our unit. we checked in after recommend check in and the unit had not been inspected yet the lady came while we were there. She returned to complete the cleaning . kitchen pans not clean and not very well furnished. The location was good and the staff was not very friendly.

This was our first time at #385 and we found everything we needed plus wonderful views and access to the sandy beach. Though not brand new, this the the place to come and relax and soak up the sun. Fresh linens, great facilities with indoor pool and hot tub, and playground for the young and young at heart. This is a great place to get a jump start on spring and leave a northern chill behind. We'll be back again!

6 inch dirt ring in the tub. Stuffy smell. Just a dump. Friendly check in. Don't take this warning lightly. You will regret it

This year my family went and took our three daughters here. We are RCI members. The youngest was 7 months old. I would not let her get near the floor! There were cock roaches in the bathtubs each morning. The kitchen had a refridgerator that had an inspection date of 1989 in it. We had no working washing machine until day 4 of our 6 day stay! The kitchen had smears and grease all over it. There was dust in every vent. To make this story the nightmare it truly was, the pest "man" came by to spray but we had to decline due to two of my girls having asthma. In truth it neded to be sprayed bad. We had stayed here before and it was messy then. Had hoped it was improved. This did us in, NO MORE! We will not be back! Some of the pictures you see listed are not the units you will get. Be careful before you book here.

We paid approximately $175 a night to rent this place. I've paid a lot less at other places for a lot more. The location is great. You can't get any closer to the beach. The outdoor pool is great. However, you DO HAVE to sleep at night. We were willing to overlook the ants in the bathroom, the ant traps all over the kitchen, the crummy furniture, the curtains that constantly fall off the rods, the lack of a TV remote control, the dirty and sticky feeling carpets, the bathroom doors that would not lock, lack of lightbulbs, the difficult to open front door lock and numerous other "small' inconveniences. However, the slap in the face was the air-conditioner that that did not work compounded with the ceiling fan in my son's bedroom that did not work. This happened the 2nd night of our 2 night stay. Once we realized the problem, we called the "after-hours emergency" line which was basically an answering machine. No one returned our call. Needless to say we had a miserable 2nd night. In summary I would not recommend UNIT 276 at Place at the Beach.

APATBIII is where we vacationed 15 years ago and our family loved it. However, the interiors of all of the units we have rented during the last few years haven't changed AT ALL and are 80's furnishings, at best; basement castoffs too often. I really want the unit to look like it is in the 21st century. If the updates aren't made mandatory, we'll be looking elsewhere. The slide is great, but we do have to go inside sometime! One of the doorkeys didn't work, which we found out at midnight when we went for a walk. Lucky for us we left the sliding door unlocked at have an athletic son who scaled the wall. Check out on Sunday was a problem pre season this year at Easter. Nobody was at the office at Seaspray and the packet we were supposed to leave wouldn't fit through the opening slot.
