This is long but well worth the time spent reading !
The room was what was expected of a beach front hotel. Smelled like sun tan lotion and had all the signs of a beach front hotel. I have no complaints of the facility, room, pools, beach access, or staff you would bump into in the hotel hallway. All employees were courteous and very nice. So nice the room my parents were in they were tipping the cleaning staff.
The bad part of this hotel.........this is a must read !
A young lady that was new accidently CREDITED my card for double the room rate. Honest mistake that should be easy to fix. The card was a debit card so the credit would not hit for 5 days after the credit. The general manager, Tommy Edwards, called me down to the office and explained to me what had happened. I told him we can charge the credited money back to my card AFTER the credits hit my account as there was not enough there to cover the remaining days of vacation plus $600. after speaking with Tommy we agreed I would call when the money was there and they could run the card and and make it right. At that point we shook hands as genlemen and was set with that agreement. Fast forward three days to Thursday morning at 6am when we check out. The man behind the counter verifies that we had a nice stay and that Tommy had spoken with me about the CREDIT error THEY had made. I said yes and all was well. On the way back to TN I have my girlfriend pull up my account and check to see if their money had showed up yet, the answer was no. that waas roughlyy 10 am. Approx 5 pm she checks the acocunt and sees they have decided to try and pull $300 of THEIR $600 error out of my account. So at this time I called for Tommy and Pam told me "he had left for the day but she will call his cell phone and pass on the message for him to call me direct." I gave her my number and name, she repeated it to me and hungup. 1 hour later I call back and Pam answers again and I told her that since Tommy has not called me back that my situation is not important to him. I also had Pam pass the word "that if any transactions after the $300 did not clear my bank that Holiday Sands will be responsile for all expenses accrued from their transaction to the point where it is cleared up." That was Thursday after DRIVING 585 miles home.

TOMMY EDWARDS HAS STILL NOT CALLED MY CELL PHONE. It stays on 24/7 365. and voicemail does work since my co-employees have left voicemail on it all last week. They have not tried to take the other $300 to thispoint, and I HOPE they are WAITING on my call.....like I am Tommy's
I bring a Golf Group down every year for a few days and this hotel was recommened. The problems we had is that the bedds are hard, no complimentary coffee, ice trays missing from freezer & everything is out dated. Having to park across the street is no fun when having to cross a four lane road. The first year we stayed there, the hotel gave away one of the golfer rooms. When this golfer showed up to check in, He was given a hard time and told he was already check in. After about 30 minutes of arguing with the hotel staff a room was found for him but NO compensation was offered for the inconnvence cause by the hotel. This year when I asked for the room number of a fellow golfer I was told that there was no golfer by that name registered at the hotel. This golfer check in at the same time that I check in. When I saw him the next morning I asked if he had checked out, and he said NO and gave me his room number. I'm moving my golf group to a better hotel next year.
Hard hard beds, no coffee, dish liqued, very loud, not very clean, rude people,
hard to find a parking space, had to walk a mile to get back and forth,
stay up all saturday night..people just to loud in front of our room, police back and forth across the street, nasty....sorry had bad experience..but i think if we could have gotton a room faceing the ocean we may have liked it better !! sorry just a really bad experience...next time i will spend more money to get better service...u get what u pay for..
We have stayed in the condo building several times and we still love it. Our kids love it to. It is like really being on vacation. Very clean, lots of pool options, great staff. I am a mail carrier and know alot of people. I tell everyone what a great place this is.
the room was very clean and spacious. we had a one bedroom condo on the 10th floor with full kitchen and great oceanfront views. we stayed from september the 27th through october the 2nd and only paid $287.00. each day our room was cleaned and fresh towels and beach towels. could not have gotten a better deal on such a great room. i would highly recommend this hotel especially after labor day to get this great deal.
We rented a 2 BR 2 BA ocean view condo from Sept. 19-24...5 nights for less than $400!!! What more could you ask for?! It was very clean and the entire staff was very friendly. The beds were good, I have back problems and always worry about getting a good nights sleep away from home, I had no problems during my stay. We were on the 10th floor and the elevators were lightning fast. The parking garage was great, although the spaces are small; it is very secure since you have to use your room key/card to gain access. Beware when leaving the garage if you have a low vehicle/bumper, the curb is very high. The only thing I saw that needed attention was the indoor lazy river, the walls looked like they needed a good scrubbing. It might have been where the tubes rub the sides, but I didn't get in it to see! The ocean front location/access was perfect; found some great shells and sharks teeth. I've been going to Myrtle Beach for 26 years now and this is by far the best place I've found to stay, I would highly recommend the condos to anyone.
I read all the reviews and was prepared for the worst. Let me say the place was great. Staff were nice and the room was great. 9th floor and everything was clean and althought the furniture was older, it was far from bad! Tv was fine, bathroom was clean, carpet looked new, plenty of dishes, except no bottle opener. Of course there is no dishwasing liquid or anything like that, but why would there be. There is a market just about 4 blocks north that has everything you would need. The pools and lazy river were fantastic and very clean, pool towels are available at the front desk. The only issue is with parking...there is plenty of it, but most is across the street. It is patrolled regularly...there is public beach access directly beside the hotel that is first come, first serve after 7 pm (about 15 spots) there are about 10 spots directly in front of the hotel. There are plenty of loading and check in spots. Total check in time was less than 15 minutes. Restaurant has a good breakfast buffett for $6. Also the bed was fine - but don't expect them to change the sheets everyday on multi-night stays, but none of the other hotels I have ever stayed at do either. Oh yeah - there is also a sun deck that directly over looks the beach and some of the ocean front rooms on the bottom floor open directly onto this deck...so those may not be the best rooms. We stayed at the hotel but reviewed the condos and will be glad to stay in either. Great stay, great vacation, great experience. We will return again and again.
The hotel was old and run down. The furniture was pieced together with missing handles and knobs. Most of the light fixtures didn't work. The beds were hard and the air conditioning didn't quite make it to the back bedroom. The TVs were ancient and didn't work well. One had a pink picture; the other made everything orange. We have an oceanfront with balcony but there was a sun deck off our balcony that obscured our view and there were people on the deck sunning, hanging out or eating which didn't make for much privacy. We did have good access to the beach; had use of several pools in this building and the one next door. Parking was across a four lane street which was difficult with two small children. Cleanliness was o.k. but not great. I didn't know what to expect with the kitchen but I thought it was understocked. No complimentary coffee for the coffee maker; no hot pan holders for the stove; no paper towels; no dishwashing detergent. My bad...didn't know I was supposed to bring all this stuff. It was just not a pleasant suite but we weren't there much. I will look for another hotel next time.
We have stayed there alot, matter of fact, we are staying again in July....I would recommend it to all...but there is this very rude man I talked to about making my reservations, he said he has worked there for 5 years, and I had a disagreement with him and decided to wait until the next day and talk to different people....other than that, its a great place...close to all places...
