This was our second stay; was great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/08
This resort is very nice. Our first visit was three years ago. We were afraid that the resort would be showing signs of wear. There were a few, but overall everything was great. We had a beautiful 2 BR, 2 Bath unit on the 13th floor, ocean front in the south tower. This was alittle high, but was ok. Great news, our balcony was open! The unit was on the end next to the ocean walk shops and restaurants. At night especially on week-ends, the noise went on until about 2 PM. Ear plugs worked fine. The kitchen had all appliances needed except frying pans. Called the desk and they responded promptly. The beach is great. The pool, slide, and lazy river was clean and well kept. On our first visit the pool was crowded!!! I believe that was in the month of June. This time we had no troubly getting chairs or tables. On all the elevators there was an advertisment for 'Happy Hour' at the Eatery Bar during the day and early evening hours. One problem, the Eatery Bar is not open during the day! Went to the 'Turtle Nest Bar' at the pool, but bartender would not honor ad. Spoke with a manager, he said that they would honor at the pool bar. Bartender got alittle attitude, but all worked out. The day of check-in they gave us an appointment to meet with a Wyndam staff member (salesperson)to share our comments (??). We expressed that we really did not want to attend a sales presentation, but they did not want to cancel appointment. The gift was to be a $70 gift certificate to a restaurant. We did not make the appointment, this on on Monday. They called at least twice a day to our unit and left messeages all week. By Thursday the gift dropped to $60. We had been through a sales meeting with them once and did not care to go through another. The 'Welcome Party' on Monday was sort of a let down. The pastries could have been better. The coffee and OJ was great! Our first vacation at this resort, the local vendors gave away some pretty neat door prizes, but this time they did not. The only good ones were coupons to ride the skylift at the pier and the go-karts across the street. Get this, the resort gave away a COOKIE CUTTER! They had to draw three times before anyone would claim it. Would have been nice if the resort could have given a: t-shirt, facial, message, gift cert. for movie tickets, Bubba Gumps, to one of the Ocean Walk Shops, something kind of nice, but not a cookie cutter. Well, maybe the resort could not afford to give gifts quiet that expensive.....Well enough of that...... In the other reviews that I read, Bubba Gump got really good reviews. We ate there, it was good, but pretty expensive. I think that it is overated, but try it and you be the judge. Overall the resort is great! Great location!! Great beach! We would go back....

Fairfield Daytona is top notch
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/03/07
Fairfield Daytona Beach-Ocean Walk is a top notch resort, one of Fairfield Resorts nicest resort location in the timeshare program. You cannot get much better than what this resort has to offer. Particularly for a family with children, massive pools and an on-site lazy river too!

This Resort is Awesome
By A Yahoo! User, 06/08/07
This hotel is awesome, there are so many activites to do and I love the enormous pool. They even have a spa! We stayed in a suite, which was roomy and the decorating was great. They also have live music by the pools. Its also just a short walk from the Ocean Walk, which has restaurants(such as Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.) and there are surf shops, etc. You will love this resort, Go there, Trust me! We're going there again this year!

Going again this year!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/07
We loved the resort. There is something for everyone from our 2 year old to the adults. Kids activities, swimming pool, lazy river, miniature golf, the list goes on and on. We spent days on the beach, just right outside the resort and evenings touring the area. There is even a day spa in the resort, great for that pedicure to show off your feet in sandals. The Ponce de Leon lighthouse is a must see. It's only about an hour from Orlando and the parks there too. We were able to go for the day to Sea World and come back to our ocean front resort at night. Great vacation - we just loved it.
