Good value and friendly service!

Only a five to ten minute stroll from the main bus and train terminals, this hotel is tucked away on a side street, providing a quiet stay but still a good starting point for your explorations in Venice. The staff is friendly and, while fluent in English, is patient enough to let you try your hand at Italian. They will be happy to arrange a tour of a Murano glass workshop, and they arranged free transportation for me to the island. Staff is available 24 hours. It has the feel of a small, comfy hotel combined with the charm of a bed and breakfast.
They offer the standard continental hotel breakfast, but a staff member also offered to make me an omelette or a crepe (fruit or chocolate!) if I wanted! The room rates were good considering the general rates for hotels in Venice during the high peak tourist season when I was there. Great value for a two star hotel.
The Hotel San Giorgio is a hidden gem! I look forward to visiting Venice again and when I do I will book with them again.
