Trust me, just spend your money at another hotel, this "luxury" hotel, terrible sevice, indifferent management, rude staff. This place is a joke, luxury? Maybe in North Korea, gimme a break.

There is not one thing not to like about the MO NYC. We have stayed numerous times. From the moment we arrive, it feels like coming home. I swear I think they remember us! The courtesy of the doormen, bellmen, front desk staff, room service attendants, housekeepers, etc. is impeccable. The concierge goes over the top to ensure a perfect stay. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this first-class establishment! It is on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for!

Spent a few days at the Mandarin New York and had a chance to get a massage at the spa. What a treat. Great staff; fantastic facility and luxurious relaxation. The amethyst steam room is particularly nice.

after a TERRBILE time at the Four Seasons we decided to leave there and into the Mandarin - staff could not have been more helpful in arranging to move us there - excellent check in and lovely rooms and location - bar was lovely and the dining room superb (but expensive) - only annoyance was the TV system int he rooms - have stayed there before and for some reason the never get it right - often fuzyy and difficult to operate - with that minor exception a lovely place to stay if you can afford to

The MO NYC was amazing, everything and anything was A+. Sure it's on the expensive side, but you get your money's worth! Beautiful Rooms, gorgeous hotel, great accomadations, very pleasent staff, great views, great decor all around! amazing atmosphere !! Returning again February 2008 !

I went to the Mandarin Oriental many times whilst I was renting an apartment, nearby, in New York. I wish I'd seen the hotel first. It has a stunning view overlooking Central Park, from the lobby and restaurant on the 35th floor. One of the best I have ever seen, in any city. This hotel gives you a five star welcome - warm, genuine, sincere and discreet, regardless of whether you buy a hot chocolate or stay in one of their most exclusive suites. That is the mark of an establishment of total class. White hot chocolate? I didn't even know that existed until I went to the Mandarin Oriental. Dirk Robertson

It was a travesty from the moment we entered the hotel. We had reserved four rooms for two nights on a corporate account, and our guests were asked for credit cards, even though we had arranged beforehand that they would not. None of the rooms were ready by the check-in time. An elderly woman was left waiting for more than two hours...no offer of assistance, a seat, a cup of tea. nothing. Front desk was service with a sneer. Cocktails in the lounge took over an hour to be delivered. The room was small and not worth the price, and the seating was a joke. The loveseat was stylish but the back sloped to the seat in the middle, inferring that if you sat in the center you would fall over backward on the floor. Bathroom likewise was uncomfortable. Amenities like a remote control and hair dryer were hidden in places you would never dream of investigating. Best part is when we went to check out. The front desk told us we couldn't because we had already checked out. It was hard not to laugh. They continued to insist that we already left. It was like a cartoon. Don't bother. Go to the Ritz Carlton where you are treated like a guest.

Staff were not gracious or very welcoming. Maid tried to get in room with privacy light on. The room had too many small problems, like the television didn�t always work; the soap dish in the bathroom was broken, so when you put the wet slippery bar on it, the bar slid to the bathroom floor; the toilet paper holder in the bathroom was loose in the wall, causing the roll to slide off, etc. Nothing was so terrible in and of itself, but cummulatively the impression was not good. Considering the rates charged, space and facilities are limited. Hotel is well located near central park south, columbus circle, time warner building, times square, but NYC has better options.
