Club El Mandarin, Playa del Carmen

The only thing I did'nt like about El Manderian was the smell @ night. everything els was grate,we are planing on going back next month. the allinclusive should have botteled beer not draft,because if you drink to much lol

We loved club el mandarin. The shuttle ride in to town was short an comfortable. We felt very safe and relaxed. We would have loved more water bottles put in out room fridge each day though.

It was by far the best resort I have ever experienced in Mexico. The roooms were clean and very comfortable. The food was far better than any I have had in Mexico. It is well worth the price. I really do not understand the bad reviews. The air worked well. There was always plenty of hot water and the staff was very friendly and efficient. I want to return as soon as possible.

Let me just say W.O.W. Our words can't explain how much fun we had. We were there last November 2006. The only downfall was that the new pool was under construction. But the pool we did have was very nice and relaxing. It lit up at night. The scenery was very beautiful. The gardens where very well taken care of and gorgeous. The sand on the beach was not too hot nor to cold. The sunset was AMAZING. The staff was very polite and helpful. The plays they had put on while we were there, were fun and enjoying. On our last night stay they had picked people out of the crowd to go up on stage with them and dance, which is what happened to us. Very exciting. "Shout out too Nelson and Johan, from Ashlie and Jenny, your favorite Michigan girls (G-Unit)". Hopefully we'll be back soon October 2007. We definatly recommend Club El Mandarin for a fun and relaxing vacation.

This hotel is "okay" it needs better staff,(friendlier people) we got delayed from our room and it is sooo terible we had to wait nearly 3-4 hours for it...The jacuzzi caused my mother and I sicknesses. Maybe it has changed but we DID NOT like it..

I just got back from the El Mandarin and it was excellent! When you first checked in, someone from the bar would come and serve non-alcoalholic drinks so kids could have them. The lobby was excellent with very nice comfy chairs and tables all over. My family requested a room by the pool and it was not ready yet so a very kind lady named Aracalli led us to a room where we could all change (a bathroom). A VERY IMPORTANT TIP:Put a bathing suit in a carry-on for everyone and SUNSCREEN. The pool is great for kids because it is shallow the whole way through except for this part that is surrounded by yellow and red balls that is the deep part. The beach was OK. very rocky. But that didnt stop people from going in the water and FEEDING THE FISH. People got food from the all day buffet and fed it to the fish. they came right up to you. Water sports were great! The people at the bar were great. Oh... and Breakfast was EXCELLET!!! At night there was a kids disco that was excellent for kids!!! Kuco, who does the kids disco dresses up as Barney and the dance.THe shows were pretty amature - I've seen better.But after the shows.... there was a band who were EXCELLENT!!!! Hope my review is helpful!!!!

Advantages: The entertainment team was very friendly and put shows on everynight. They kept you busy during the day with activities. Food was good but sometimes it was hard to find food in the buffet.Drinks were good (except the wine). disadvantages: There was no swim up bar!!

My G/f and her family just returned from a 10 day stay at the Club el Mandarin. The staff was great, espically the animation crew and bartenders. The animation crew had a show everynight, and were ALWAYS cheerful and great to be around. The food was plentiful and always filling. There were 3 eating facilities, one by the pool, the main dining hall, and an upstairs restaruant. The pool dining was mainly fast food style, but was tasty. The main dining hall had a buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And the upstairs dining was very relaxing and more upscale then everything else. I would reccomend this place to couples and smaller groups. Its close to Playa, and Cancun, and you can always find a ride. I loved my stay and would more then likely return in the future.

We just got back from a seven night, eight day stay at El Mandarin and it was awesome!! I had read some lously reviews and now realize that anyone who had anything bad to say should quit being cheap and simply pay for the 5 star service they feel they desereve(although I'm sure they would find something to complain about there too). El Mandarin was great! They are building a brand new pool, the beach bar was terrific, the buffet so good that we never even went to the fancy restaurant, and the room was impeccable! All staff were very hard working and friendly. I was not ready to leave after the week and would recommend it to anyone....except of course the die-hard partiers, and the snobby people who want 5 star service on a budget.

The staff was very friendly, and helpful. Food was good, beaches were beautiful and clean ( hand raked every morning ), close to playa del carmen (which is where you should book any excursions you want to do, ...way cheaper than booking through the hotel). I would recommend it to everyone!
