Hotel San Francisco Plaza, Fracc Guadalajara

Love it. Bueno, bonito, barato. There are a lot of gay bars and prostitutes surrounding the hotel so dont bring your kids on any "midnight strolls". Obviously, the bad reviews come from people who have not stayed in s--t holes because this place even has air conditionaing and hot water that actually works sometimes. If you are 21 and gay stay here. If you are old and rich, find yourself a five star hotel on Juarez and PAY FOR IT.

Who gave this hotel its raing? Provably some one who has never been in a clean hotel. I was so disappointed when I got there after a long trip. The bedspread was disgusting; the carpet, the same; and there was no way I was going to get in that shawer: There was mold in the groove where the sliding door slides and the walls were.......ugrrrrr DON'T GO THERE!!!! PS, The hotel is located in a very dangerous area of Guadalajara

The restaurante crew was particularly friendly and helpful. Be sure to get a room in the back...as rooms on the parque are quite noisy on Fri and Sat night. The front desk personnel were a little cold....but it was as low as 59 degrees in the mornings.

the hotel is not divine,in the night more bad because you can listen many prostitutes on the street the location is terribly bad, you can not sleep listening to the porstitutes walking in the strees,structure is typically Mexican,but the hotelwhere is located it is not recommended.

A classic place - Oliver North met with Columbian drug cartel people - (during those historic times of Iran/Contra and the Reagan White House) There may not be anyone left working there who remembers those meetings in the restaurant...but I arrived a year later and with the image of Ollie North on TV, there was plenty of talk at the hotel in 1987. There is no doubt that it is centrally located - and that things are very easily accessed in town with this location, I am sure that this is why it was chosen as a meeting place.

The food was worth the price, a nice spread for breakfast buffet and an adequate menu for dinner. The rooms are adequate, if you can't do stairs make sure you ask for a ground floor room.

The guide books are unclear - do the rooms have ensuite shower and toilet? I'd like to stay there if they do. The location sounds o.k. and the cleanliness pretty good from what other people have said. The hotel sounds charming. I'm also a bit concerned that one reviewer said the streets were strange (maybe dangerous) after 11:00 and don't know how seriously to take this - just an American who wants holiday inn at Disneyland, or an experienced traveller who found the environment challenging?

We were there for one night the hotel is old and beautiful we liked the closeness of all the shops, parks, and plazas. Everyone was gracious and kind. The food was excellent. We were able to get a cab right away from the front door. We thought the room was clean. Not fancy but well worth the price!!

Best part is the Price..! Location is great with convenient free parking We always get a some what lower rate than is listed on this site. The cathedral area is just four blocks which has many restaurants and always has some type of entertainment in the plazas. The on site restaurant is also convenient "Nothing but raves form my wife and myself. "

My experience at Hotel San Fransico Plaza overall was great! I along with my husband was there for six nights. The service was excellent. Everyone was very helpful and always had a smile on thier face. The room was clean and cute. The only thing was the bathroom was small and I would rate the cleanliness of the bathroom a four out of five. The food in the resturant was good also. The ladies were very nice. The location was good. We were only a few blocks from everything.While in Guadalajara please visit La Chata great food. Again, great experience over all.You want peace and quiet, it's there. Thumbs up for the service. Everyone at the front desk knew english. My only negative comment is please do not do not go there to get married. To much red type and to much money. Unless you can stay 10 to 14 days do not attempt.DIF will take eight to ten days alone. Thank you San Francisco,no thank you for marrige process.
