Deseo Adult Only Boutique Hotel, Playa del Carmen

This is a great boutique hotel and the location was perfect. The streets can get loud, especially around 3:30 am when the CoCo Bongo closes and the throngs walk by; but nothing that a few of the Deseo's excellent cucumber martini's and piped in music can't cure. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The first night there wasn't any hot water but the staff came up and fixed that right away and it was fine for the rest of our stay. The room had a spotless, minimalist feel to it and was cleaned every day. The final night we had to meet a 3:30 am shuttle to the airport and the person behind the desk waited with us outside and even called the shuttle to make sure they were on their way. The only thing that kept me from giving it a 5 star rating was, contrary to Yahoo's description, the "breakfast" is not complimentary. However, seeing as it was essentially nothing more than toast and coffee this wasn't a big loss. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this place is probably not for you but if you want live it up and be in the center of the action in Playa I would definitely recommened the Deseo.
