Grand Miegas Acapulco Hotel, Acapulco

I loved my time there in 2002..in time for Xmas and New Year....I had just lost my husband and need to be away from family at this particular holiday season.I was too sad to stay at home...The Grand meigas fulfilled all my needs.Fantastic and Happy service,great food,great airy rooms.The balcony rooms are a must.I had a picturesque view of the ocean and surrounding scenery.I also watched the staff arrive around 5am from my balcony,they would sing and dance to the radio as they set up for breakfast.Made me feel good to be alive.Such a happy place,I needed that.I will never forget my time there and I have also reccomended there to my friends.Also The Madonna praying area really helped me.And so many other areas there at the hotel,you could just stay there and enjoy,or,tour as you wish.Thank you Grand Meigas you are well worth it,and I will always treasure my time there.

People in the front desk is careless specially if you do not speak Spanish, they just laugh or ignore you, but people in the kitchen are nice and they take care of you as best they can. Not all the rooms have air conditioning and because of that you have to be very specific to ask it or just "by default" they assume that you do not care about that. The hotel is beautiful but huge, old and not well maintained. Only one section is given attention and it is the one where you want to be because is nice. We have to ask for change of rooms after being arguing with the desk front people until the manager took care of us he and apologized. Balconies in all the rooms with ocean view are like not other hotel in Acapulco, you can really relax and enjoy the view without been charged extra for having ocean view instead of just walls. Rooms are very good size and I loved the fact that they have communicated rooms by the doble balcony, that way kids do not have to be i the same room with us but they are in the same area, like a two bedrooms suite. The area is quiet and family environment oriented, safe for kids. Gardens and 2 swimming pools with plenty of areas for relaxation including some for games. When we were over there, they did not have phones in the rooms, that was weird but we really did not care bacause we had cell phones. The hotel is in "Acapulco Tradicional" section and it is far from all the other beaches and "action" places. It is good for peace and quiet, but if you want to go other places you end spending a lot of time waiting for a taxi and taxi drivers in Acapulco are not very honest they charge you as they see you.
