Posada Rio Cuale Hotel, Las Juntas

Anyone who has had the table-side Ceasar's salad, Steak Diana or Café Especial will certainly know why I'm in search of the Restaurant.

Posada Rio Cuale is closed and has been for 2 years. I have been going there since 1974 and became great friends of the Hernadez Family. Jose tore the hotel down and built some great condo's. It seems as though the people that used to stay at the hotel bought up the condo's pretty fast!!

I just called about a reservation. It is not a hotel anymore, according to the guy who answered the phone.

We are coming home. We have always taken the bus from the airport then chosen a hotel. This is our favorite and we are headed back. Had more fun with the staff, kitchen, waiter and major domo. Rooms are clean and we enjoyed breakfast and dinners there many times. Ceasar Salad and margaritas made at table! Fabulous! Travel as the real Native tourists do and be treated as family. Price is fabulous and you are treated with more respect than the pricey condo's on the beach and have much more privacy.

Rooms clean and simple. Great location for both the beach and shopping. Wonderful restaurant We've eaten there several times and stayed in the hotel for 4 days. Fine Mexican experience. We'll go back again, both for the food and the Mexican atmosphere. Upstairs rooms are lighter and brighter.

Clean, neat, close to town center, restaurants. They have a very good restaurant on site. Stay away from the street side, can be noisy. You don't need a car, you can walk everywhere.

Two short blocks from an uninspiring beach, the Rio Cuale is a grea buy for those traveling on a budget. Clean, well-staffed and with a small pool(chilly) and an excellent restaurant, this hotel is in the center of the old town and right on the bus lines leading to the better out-of-town beaches. We would definitely go back again - and will.

Top floor rooms are best. Pool isn't really used, next to restaurant, but it feels soothing to view, like a reflection pool. Very clean, feels private. Been there twice already. Pin down price. They said it was $5 higher when we checked in, I made phone res.

A great place with an excellent restaurant. Real Mexican cultural immersion. Not touristy
