Great location if you were to ski at Sunlight.
We stayed at Sunlight Inn for 5 days right before Christmas 2008. The Inn is located literally minutes away from the Sunlight Ski Resort, which makes skiing there very convenient. A number of large families were staying at the hotel the same time as we did. Kids seemed to enjoy the place and a pile of toys that was arranged for them in the family room next to the TV area. Our room (#16) was rustic, no fridge, microwave or hair dryer. The shower was ok, though it was difficult to control the temperature of water. The room was rather clean except for the multiple corpses of hibernating flies on the floor. Don't get me wrong though, the rest of the room was clean. Maybe owners just didn't want to kill them ; ) since one fly did wake up and flew around the room for a few seconds one day. In the reviews, which I read about the hotel, people were commenting about the quality of the breakfast. It was nice indeed and filling. Owners were trying to do something different each morning. Nothing extraordinary, but good quality and tasty. The walls in the hotel were very thin and you could easily hear people in the room next to yours. The hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas with lights, garlands and a huge tree. The price was not the cheapest (around $150 a night). You could get a better room for the same money or less in Glenwood Springs, but if you want to ski in Sunlight, this hotel is a good choice.
