Ocean Club Resort, Westerly

The only good thing about this experiance was leaving the resort if you can call it that. It is rundown and the units are small. It is a glorified motel that they are passing off as a resort. The pool was ok and the veiw of the ocean was not you looked passed the homes in front of the condo. It is not on the waterfront and the tennis courts are in disrepair. The unit that they showed us was two floors and clean however if you are trying to sell a condo you should not show one with a leaky ceiling. The sales staff is unprofessional and the woman could only tell us that they are putting in new rugs and floors over and over again. The manager was ok until we said that we were trying to see if this would meet our life style and that we needed to think it over and then the sledge hammer came out. To his credit he tried everything to close us but when the sales lady interupted him for the uptinth time he lost his temper and ended the offer.. P.S When I asked about the ability to resale the unit and why is the bank doing short sales on them I did get some double talk and it raised a flag on the actual value of the units. They were also pushed the swaping of weeks with other people I never got answer about the weeks that were best to have.

The Resort is small but cozy. And clean. A great place for the family. It has the beach as well being close to many other attractions and the views are wonderful. Take the time to spend a day and see for yourself.

This place is really gross and the entire beach atmosphere reminds me of the Jersey Shore. The time share presentation was really unprofessional and our salesman kept scribbling prices all over his piece of paper.....I was unimpressed by the facility, pool, salesperson OR beach.And BTW, the 4 free airline tickets are very restricted.In fact, if you want to travel anywhere, you typically have to stay at least one week at their predetermined hotels (full price). So we had a nice date/day at Misquamiciut...but after going for ice cream at Watch Hill afterwards, we were CERTAIN that the Ocean Club resort was dingy and not for us. Their beach is adjacent to the bar/club which blares music all day/night. I couldn't think of one relaxing thing about the place....

I am considering attending the promotion for the time share. From what I have read everyone thinks the place is clean and nice to stay at, but the sales techniques are horrible. Can you tell me if you did get the cruise for two? HELP!

Last night ,I just wasted 7 hours of my time . I do not know why I did not read the very first review . Bryan nailed it . Our salesman was probably the same guy , then big Steve comes in . All he could say was master card , visa , american express, bad check , good check ... , what an ass . I told him , I will not make a decision tonight . Did you not read the hand-out - he says . Apparently , neither did he - it says 90 minutes - took 2 1/2 hours . (plus traveling). The free gifts , bogus . If you want the airline tickets , plan on a hotel for 7 nights . I wonder if The Ocean Club folks even read these reviews .? If I were them , I would be embarassed . Do yourself a favor and stay home . There are more reviews that spell it out better than me , read them .

Ok my fiancee and I went down to check it out we had some interset, when we toured the place we walk into a room and it smelled horrible, like a gym locker room full of sweatty socks. There were yellow stains running down the walls , and there were still vcrs in the room, not a dvd player. Anyway as the minutes slowly passed we sat down with a salesman who was very nice, the only thing he said was this is not going to be a pressured sale, yeah ok it was the most pressure i have felt ever, and Im in the sales business and believe me it was. So towards the end the numbers did not work the place was disgusting we were ALL SET. So the last and final effort to try and close us was this salesmananger Steve, he sat down going over the same stuff the first guy did over and over, buddy we are all set. So we mentioned we were possibly going to be given a time share from our parents for our honeymoon and we were not interested. This guy turns into the meanest most IGNORANT person I have ever seen, He has the BALLS to tell us some day you two have to grow up because mom and dad arent always going to give you things. UH ARE YOU F'N KIDDING ME? Who the hell is this guy? So we were told we were getting free gifts at the end of the tour, great free gifts! This guy once again tells us WHY WOULD YOU WANT THE FREE GIFTS YOU CANT EVEN AFFORD THEM.. WHAT? The free gifts are a so called free weekend getaway, yeah ok you have to pay to register first of all, and also pay tax on the rooms as well. And blackout dates yadda yadda, not free.. So anyway that is my experience at the Ocean Club Resort In Westerly.. Do not recommend to anyone!!!

We recently received the postcard advertising the free cruise and considered going to the presentationbecasue we arelooking for vacation homes. After reading the reviews, I am not so sure we will go. Even though the presentation was a nightmare for most of you - did you get the "free" cruise, were there hidden costs, and was it good???

About a year ago I went just for the free gift, The salesman was not that good but the ocean spoke for it self. I go back every chance I get!!!

My wife and I recently attended the sales presentation for a timeshare, and our experience concurs with those described in the other negative reviews. From the moment we arrived there was a faint air of selaziness about the whole thing, which devolved into a rank stench by the time we left. Their pretense of politeness disappeared the instant we declined and we were thereafter treated rudely and unprofessionally. This of course speaks volumes about their professional integrity and personal character. One is left wondering how much of what they said was actually true and I cannot imagine why anyone would actually make a real estate investment with such disingenuous people. I have neither the time nor the inclination to figure out such behavior. All I know is that this was 4 hours of my life that I will not get back.

We have owned a timeshare there for the last 4 yrs.When we went to the presentation we had no desire to buy anything, however the salesperson we had was very professional and strong, so we listened to what they had to say and decided to become an owners, which ended up to be one of the best things we did for our family. Not only do we have fun going there, but our kids love it too.We travelled to many nice places with it: such a Martha's Vineyard, Disney World, Washington D.C., Carribean and many more.The places we stay are fantastic.I would advise anyone, who vacations with their family to give a timeshare presentation a try!
