Never, ever.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/03/10
My wife and I recently attended the sales presentation for a timeshare, and our experience concurs with those described in the other negative reviews. From the moment we arrived there was a faint air of selaziness about the whole thing, which devolved into a rank stench by the time we left. Their pretense of politeness disappeared the instant we declined and we were thereafter treated rudely and unprofessionally. This of course speaks volumes about their professional integrity and personal character. One is left wondering how much of what they said was actually true and I cannot imagine why anyone would actually make a real estate investment with such disingenuous people. I have neither the time nor the inclination to figure out such behavior. All I know is that this was 4 hours of my life that I will not get back.

The breath of fresh air
By Wildar, 02/01/10
We have owned a timeshare there for the last 4 yrs. When we went to the presentation we had no desire to buy anything, however the salesperson we had was very professional and strong, so we listened to what they had to say and decided to become an owners, which ended up to be one of the best things we did for our family. Not only do we have fun going there, but our kids love it too.We travelled to many nice places with it: such a Martha's Vineyard, Disney World, Washington D.C., Carribean and many more. The places we stay are fantastic.I would advise anyone, who vacations with their family to give a timeshare presentation a try!

TIME SHARE NIGHTMARE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/31/10
My husband and I visited yesterday 1/30/10 for the 90 minute time share presentation. When we pulled up my husband was convinced that the location of the presentation was a different place to the place they were trying to sell (it looked old and shabby). Well he was unpleasantly surprised. I must say that the pool and jacuzzi were beautifully kept and the mock condo was beautiful inside but the salesman was pushy, pushy, pushy. We ended up staying two hour and half hours and deciding not to purchase. He was pretty convincing because you have options to trade your week for a different location but it was just not for us. When we went to check out at the end of the presentation, the air fare tickets they offered were gone. The big boss was very nice to us until we decided not to purchase. Then he began to get uptight and very rude. Very RUDE !!! He left me with a very uneasy feeling. Now, if we want our gifts, we have to travel back up to Westerly (1.30 minutes) to get our package next week. It is ridiculous that you would not carry enough gift packages even though you know how many groups you have confirmed for that day. It cost us $100.00 in babysitting costs, gas and a dinner out, to do this presentation and now we have to return a second time. Very unprofessional. Perhaps, it would have been nice for them to give us the lunch for two for our trip. Your best bet would be to just avoid doing this presentation. Unless you enjoy getting all your teeth pulled without novicane..... :)

Do not go!!!!!!!!!!!
By Kay, 10/16/09
My husband and I went to the presentation. What a nightmare. It went the same way other posters have said, witht he high pressure sales and rude comments. The saleman went so far as to tell my husbamd ( who is older than me) that he was making a mistake becuase how was he going to keep a young, good looking wife like me happy without buying this. If you have the intestinal fortitude to deal with that, go for it. If not, don't both.

Will never go back... Presentation was a joke!!!
By Tracy, 10/12/09
Ok, first off the resort has been recently remodeled, and it is not as bad as some of the reviews say. With that said the presentation was a nightmare. Denise started off with keep an open mind, we know you came for your gifts. (No really!) My husband and I keep an open mind the whole time, and understood exactly that the deal was a good deal, however we just bought a house and don't want to use our bathroom remodel money to pay for a week at a timeshare(and that was only the downpayment). We said no, and no, then we were given her manager(who was a complete jerk, she wasn't so bad at first). He knew we weren't going to buy, and finally gave up after some rude comments. Meanwhile another salesman walked to where we were, after his clients left, and he said I can't believe those people just wasted my time. She came back, and would not take no, she kept repeating herself after we would say no. I turned to my husband and said are we still on the same page, and he said yes. I said to her, we are not going buy, we came for our gifts, please give us our gifts.( at this point we were there for 2 and half hours). She said well let me tell you this, and I said no please give us our gifts. She said you'll get them don't worry. She then got rude, and explained the program again, at which point my husband said look I understand what you are telling me, and I am telling you we are not interested. She made another comment, called me honey( in a derogatory way) and gave us our cruise. Which coming home and googling the travel company that does the cruise, looks like we will be better going direct to the cruise line so we don't have to worry about not getting our money back, when they say that there are no dates, after you pay for the taxes up front($299 approx per person, plus $100 deposit). Bottom line if they want people to buy a time share they should be less rude, and should expect when you offer "free gifts" most people are only coming for that. It was a complete waste of time, and I would not recommend it. The travel company was Spirit Incentives, so any one else can look into it further before making the drive out there. Not worth it. We also won two watches, didn't get the brand they promised, gave us some cheap crap ones instead. Don't bother, you won't get anything that you are promised.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
By Laura Z, 04/28/09
The first impression of this resort (I am not sure how they can call it a resort) was awful. It was run down and shabby. While walking across the parking lot there were salesmen standing near the railings. It was just so low-class. The office experience was a joke. The couple of people we spoke with were very unprofessional and not anyone I would ever consider doing business with. We did not follow through with the 90-minute tour and we were very thankful we didn't waste our time there. This experience was unbelieveable. The salesmen were rude and obviously had a lot of time on their hands!! Stay away from this place --don't waste your time!!

AVOID AVOID AVOID
By Sally M., 04/27/09
I wish I had seen this site BEFORE I traveled an hour for a presentation.. My sister and I were both contacted by Ocean Club for a free vacation to listen to the 90 minute presentation. We went with our husbands and carpooled (shy wouldn't we). We were told when we got there, that only ONE couple would be eligible for the gift because we came in the same car!.. Does that make sense? We argued that we were not aware of that clause.. and why would that matter anyway? They were rude, and dismissive, like we were wasting THEIR time. As we left angrily, there were 3 salesmen hanging over the railings mocking us.. laughing, and saying we wouldn't have liked it anyway, and how they were better off that we were leaving! Can you imagine that. It was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. The place (from the outside) looked beaten down and shabby. Why would a company turn away possible business in this economy because we came in the same car? Our husbands were relieved that it happened before we had to go face to face with those sketchy salesmen. You could just tell it would have been a hellish 90 minutes and for a vacation in a run-down resort.. No thanks.. AVOID this company at all cost.

Presentation NIGHTMARE -- avoid, avoid, avoid!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/16/09
Timeshare presentations need to be overhauled. The first salesperson actually walked away from us 30 minutes into a 90 minute presentation. The second salesperson was an annoying slob. The resort was shabby. Their program was never explained to us. Granted we went there for the free gifts, but were willing to listen if the opportunity seemed interesting. These people need some additional training if they expect to be closing any deals in the near (or far for that matter) future!!

Never again
By Christopher, 09/08/08
Today my wife & I attended a Sales presentation for a Time Share, and were very disappointed and annoyed by the salesman and the site. The tennis courts, b-ball courts and shuffleboard area all appeared to be in disrepair. The salesman did not do a good job of selling the place! At one point I asked what the bottom line cost was, but he refused to answer me, wanting instead to save that for the end. Honestly, we went to the presentation for the free gifts, but had the price been right, and the salesman had been more personable we may have considered it. Timeshares are probably a good deal for some people but for us it wasn't, however we began to consider it, but the salesman began to annoy us. Then as we were walking the property we discovered that my car had been hit by another car, the salesman recognized the car (owned by another salesman) that had hit us and told us not to call the police. When I called the police that only annoyed him, nobody ever apologized.

It's Like Going Home
By G and D, 05/26/08
We have been owners for a little more than a year and already feel completely at home. You can't beat the short walk to the beach, the sparkling pool and the friendly staff. We've been vacationing in Misquamicut for 25 years and have paid up to $1,500 per week and have received a lot less. We love being able to cook and eat in and our unit is big enough to spread out into different rooms. We don't know what else you could ask for (except an elevator). We look forward to many years at the Ocean Club and when we are gone, we know our kids will continue to enjoy it.
