Saharan Motor Hotel, Los Angeles

I had the misfortune choosing to stay in this hotel for 2 nights. I used to travel a lot but it was the most horrible service I have ever had in my experience. I won’t mention the noise and smell of chemical in my room. Hotel stuff live their own life and no one takes care about the hosts at all. The most outrages situation has happened during I was checking out and asked the receptionist (name was Tito – Indian guy) to book a taxi. However for some reason he refused to do so and verbally abused me with the swearword ‘a**hole’ in front of the witnesses – other hosts (who were also totally shocked by his behavior). He kept calling me ‘stupid a**hole’ many times when I asked him why he could not do it as I am his customer. He said that he wanted me got out of there and he would not call any taxi or provide a number as he doesn’t have to do so??? In huge emotional distress I called to my husband who was that time overseas to help me with taxi number so I booked a taxi by myself. This is just unbelievable how the personnel of Saharan Motor Hotel take care about their hosts. And it was not about me. Some other guy came over in front of me with a complaint in regard to not working Jacuzzi in his room. He said he booked a room with Jacuzzi for occasion – his anniversary but this rude receptionist just said him ‘You know I just don’t care’. And off course no one from supervisor was on site. I tried to find any contact on the manager however there is only one phone, fax number and email address. A week ago I sent an email addressed to the manager with my complaint but I am pretty sure it ended up on reception desk. In any case I am going to pursue a formal complaint to the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Hopefully it will work.

I cannot think of one reason anyone would stay here if they read the reviews. This place is FILTHY and has bed bugs, roaches and rude management. My husband was bitten, thank goodness they did not come home with us! Pure Luck! When we tried to get our money back after staying only a few hours, they accused me of being a hooker, and my husband being my pimp or john. We left without a refund before my husband did bodily damage to these men. This place is disgusting!! You have been warned!

You wont find a Bible in these rooms and the Arabs/Indians at the front desk have about as much personality as they do customer service skills, sorry if I can't understand a word you are saying, in fact I am sorry for asking. Yes, the place has quite a few roaches but it is Hollywood.

After reading the reviews on this place, I was a little concerned. But I took a chance.It was not all that bad.My room was very reasonably priced. It was clean. The features were adequate.The wireless internet worked fine. The hotel is conveniently located and the service was very friendly.Good value for the price.

Stayed there for two nights over a weekend recently. Overall it was a pretty decent experience for the $125 night avg on the wknd.. Great location. Ralph's right across the street was a bonus, as they had microwaves and a fridge in our room. The whole place was very clean and had nice decor as far as I'm concerned. Pool area was nice too, but closes very early (7pm I think). The parking was also very nice and secure (although some might complain it's tight if you have a larger vehicle). The maids were also very friendly. Front desk friendliness might be lacking a little, but they were never rude and did try to accommodate any request such as getting a remote for the TV, or opening the phone line. The one thing that bothered me was that it was like I was interrupting them during the day when in fact they were the ones who should be providing customer service in a friendly manner. Thats my only complaint. As I said though, they were never rude but made me feel like I was a complete waste of their time. I'd easily stay there again though. Very nice place for the money (especially considering some of the other alternatives in the same area on Sunset Blvd).

I had to laugh when I saw this hotel still exists. Our family stayed here a few years back - filthy!! The window a/c was upside down and carpet was soaked. We moved a table to try and fix it, and guess what??!! there was a syringe under the table. Better off sleeping in your car.

The stay was fine.The rooms were clean and convenient.The ambience was good.They took care of the guest and I appreciate them for that.Of course thay can improve upon the features.Still it is good for the price and the hospitality was also sincere.

Although the price for the location was great, and it seemed cleaned.. what I got from the after effects of staying here was BED BUGS!!!!!! The bed was crawling with them, I got bitten and when I moved on from the hotel they came with me, in the suitcase, and into the next bed I stayed, this was such a traumatic time, as I also came up in the most horrific rash all over my body for weeks. The thought of what I was sleeping in still makes me feel sick to the stomach. I had to throw away my suitcases, and spent alot of money on treatments to heal my skin!! Save yourself the horrific experience, and spend a little more on somewhere where bed bugs don't come as an added extra.

Superb location, efficient check-in. Not fancy, but you can't beat the price on the strip, and the new makeover really helps, too. Walkable to Hollywood blvd and the Strip,

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had at a hotel in my life. The first hotel we went into had roaches all over the bathroom, so we immediately went back to the front desk. Against my better judgement I agreed to move to another room. BIG MISTAKE! There were no roaches at first, till we turned off the lights then there were bugs crawling on the pillows in the blankets it was disgusting. My fiance was bitten by what we now have had diagnosed as BED BUGS! We fled the place in only 3 hours, yet when we asked to check out and get a refund the managment was SO EXTREMELY RUDE! I can't even begin to tell you how horrible they were. We did not get a refund, they would not credit our credit card and they told us we were lying about the BUGS! I'm not sure what was worse the BUGS or the Management! We have had to call our Credit Card company and turn this over to them to try and get our money back! Please whatever you do, DO NOT STAY HERE, you will get bitten by BED BUGS and have ROACHES crawling on you!
