Woodridge Bed & Breakfast of Louisiana, Pearl River

Most recently my wife and I had the absolute pleasure of spending two weeks at the Woodridge Bed and Breakfast .A pleasure that can only be described as an adventure in the true meaning of southern hospitality. The keepers of the Inn, Debbi and Tim greet you in a manner that puts you immediately at ease and sets the tempo for an enjoyment you will not believe. Delicious breakfast that commences with a fruit appetizer, followed by what can only be described as a treat to end all treats. Debbi serves a different breakfast each morning that will positively please your palate, or if required she will serve what you must have. Everything they do is accomplished in the manner of southern genteelness and grace that starts your days on a beautiful note with the surrounding beauty of their southern home. To this is added the comfort of a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi, which adds to your day or the end of a day to relax. Please enjoy as we did, Paul and Shirley Young

This was a perfect memory for the two of us to share while my husband is in Iraq. Just before he shipped out, I set up this little getaway. When I made the reservation and told the reason many suggestions were given by the innkeeper to help make it special. They even through in a bottle of bubbly with the package for free. What a peaceful place. The room was great, not cluttered and as comfortable as it could be with a daybed to cuddle and a nice balcony to relax and share a good conversation. It was a nice treat to have coffee on the balcony in the morning and listen to the peaceful sounds of the fountain and the birds while the breeze blew in the sweet smell of jasmine. Breakfast was wonderful each morning full of fresh fruit, some picked right from the yard as we watched from the balcony. One morning we had a herb souffle with biscuits which was to die for and the other was an Oatmeal Souffle which was so tasty I could not believe it was so healthy. Both left us so full we could not eat until dinner. The Innkeepers are a delight to talk to and we left feeling like we were leaving friends. My husband told them that we would return as soon as his feet hits US soil again. Now I have 2 reasons for time to pass quickly. Hope your stay is as memorable as ours!

The location is near freeways but quiet and peaceful. The rooms are beautifully decorated and quiet. The amenities and service were outstanding, as were the breakfasts. I spent many weeks over 6 months staying here and would highly recommend for both business and pleasure.

Relaxing. No loud neighbors like those in hotels. Great food and service. Location was perfect for us, we didn't mind the short drive to sight-see New Orleans. There were also plenty of nature type things to see in the area. We enjoyed the mixture.

We have stayed at Woodridge several times and as with fine wine, it gets better and better. We have stayed in the Dogwood, Live Oak and Magnolia suites and each one is decorated with impeccable taste while keeping comfort in mind. Their beds are made for dreaming and after our long drive are always the forefront in our minds. The last stay was in the Magnolia Suite in early Feb. 2007 with a antique bed dating back to the mid 1800's and matching dresser made by a family ancestor which made furniture for the White House. The fireplace in this room provides extra warmth while setting a romantic atmosphere. This room is special to say the least and for $129.00 a night, what a deal for the area. (an average national hotel room will cost $100+ in the area - we stayed at several before finding this B&B) The breakfast is a delight, bountiful & scrumptious. And all the extra touches such as homemade chocolates by the bed and homemade soaps in the bath tell the story of how the innkeepers pamper guests. We plan to return during the summer & will enjoy the pool after volunteering rebuilding homes after Katrina. It is nice to come 'home' to the peace and quiet and can not believe it can be found so close to New Orleans.

Pros: The garden is pretty. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable. The room was comfortable for the most part - nothing too terribly special. It was quiet. Sitting on the balcony and drinking coffee in the morning was a treat. The breakfast was nice. Everything was clean. The hosts recommended a couple enjoyable restaurants nearby. Cons: I think it was a little overpriced for what we received. We stayed in the Magnolia room. I cannot say there was anything about this room that made it outstanding. My husband and I love taking baths - the soft water was brown so we felt as if we were bathing in iced tea or coffee. Kinda grosss..... If you are wanting to experience New Orleans, this is not the place to stay. It is too far off the beaten path.

Quiet! Loads of privacy! Fabulous breakfasts! Warm, knowledgable, non-intrusive hosts! What more could you ask for? Oh, yes! The bed is deliciously comfortable. And we treasure our memories of the lovely evenings on the balcony with the sweet, warm garden fragrances. Oh, yes!

When booking on line you never know if what you see will be what you get! Driving up the place was more beautiful than the pictures online. Large comfortable rooms and scrumptious breakfast. We slept in and still had time for breakfast and boy was it worth getting up for - I am already craving those great biscuits. The pool and gardens were added treats, just sit back and relax. We also found lots to do in the area and good food at reasonable prices. We thought we would be to far to experience New Orleans but it was a easy drive - 25 or 30 minutes. We like New Orleans but we are sure glad we were not staying in the city with all the noise and traffic. It was a perfect mix.

We wanted to go to New Orleans but hate to stay in the city. This B&B was perfect for us. NO traffic noise or loud music. We were able to get a good nights sleep - in one of the best beds away from home. Don't get me started on breakfast, just say we were spoiled!
