Ask for a room that is in a quiet area!!
By ,
We loved the resort! The hotel and service was superb! However, we were with a large group and all had the same issue. They are currently rebuilding the beach and have a bull dozer running throughout the entire night. Also on the other side of the hotel the rooms are in a tunnel like hall way. Any bit of noise amplifys and is extremly loud! However, we did talk to the hotel manager and they immediatley moved us to the honeymoon suite at no additional charge. The service and cleanliness were beyond our expectations! This resort is highly recommended if you request a room off in a quiet area of the hotel!

Best vacation we ever took!
By ,
Everything about our trip was outstanding. Yes, this hotel is a little older than some hotels, but that made no difference to us. The hotel and grounds are just beautiful. Every staff person we saw had a cheerful greeting every time, and they did everything they could to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The food was great. Yes it is buffet, but there is a wide enough selection that even the pickiest eater had something they liked. The selection was large enough that you didnt have to stick to the same thing day after day. We were treated like royalty from the day we got there until we left. The beds are extremely firm, and thanks to the American Express rep that works at the hotel, we were able to get foam tops on the beds. I would recommend asking for the foam for your beds. I spent my 50th birthday there, and without question, it was the best one I ever had. The hotel even sent me a bottle of wine on my birthday. We are already planning a 10-day return trip. This is far enough from the college - bar - scene (about 2 1/4 miles), yet close enough to site see and shop. With the busses and cabs so readily available, you can easily travel around. There was nothing that could have made this trip any better.

Will go back to this hotel when we go again
By ,
We liked everything about it. We loved the fact that it was an all-inclusive hotel. The pools were fabulous, surroundings were always clean and were kept up very nicely, the hotel personnel were very helpful and friendly. We used the work out room early every morning. We had a massage which was excellent.

Good value for $
By ,
We just returned from our third vacation to Mexico and second to Cancun. We are in our mid-50's and our son recommended the Riu Caribe all inclusive. We saw most of the touristy sites in our previous two trips so it was great to just rest for a week at the Riu Caribe. The beach, pool activities and service were great. Meals were good at all restaurants & buffets but you had to get up early to reserve for the Steakhouse. Our biggest complaint would be the hard (firm) mattresses on the two double beds and we should have asked for a softer queen (apparently others did). They didn't restock the fridge as regularly as promised and we had to phone to get more beer and water. Overall though, for the $989/person (incl. package from Ottawa thru SunQuest) it was great.

Outstanding service!
By ,
The entire hotel was very clean. When we walked into the room, we could smell the cleaning solution, it was so clean. All the staff was overly friendly. Even when the young drunk spring breakers became rude and disorderly, all the staff continued to treat them with consisitant respect and great service. The entertainment staff seemed to never get any time off because they where always there doing fun events and getting everyone fired up with their fun costumes and shows. The only bad service we recieved was from our vacation package company and that wasn't that bad. Also, walking into the bar district of Cancun is quite the walk so I'd recomend anything but heals!

We loved it! Going back again!
By ,
There is nothing I could think of that I disliked of this place. I loved everything about it. The resort was very nice and the ocean few was too. The hotel was very clean. The food was great and specially at the buffet. The staff were sooooo awesome, they all made you feel at home. I really do miss the staff. They had entertainment everynight and boy the staff puts on a great show! All the saff trys to include everyone in there games and excersises near the pool area so you never get bored! My husband and I will definitely go back their. I would recomend this place to anyone and if you do deside to go,you wont be sorry. You can really let your hair down and have a great time! My favourite saying was- "Nobody knows you and nobody cares, what goes on in Cancun stays in Cancun!" LOL

excellent location, bad food
By ,
Everything was great except the food which is a problem in an all-inclusive. Lunch was the same every day and was not good. Dinner was the same every day and not good. We were there during Christmas and the menu did not change. The a la carte restaurant Maria's has a good menu but even tho we all ordered different dishes, everyone was displeased. Other people walked out angry. It is a shame because everything else was good.

Nice place to stay.
By ,
We enjoyed our stay here and the food was good. I guess the only thing I would complain about was the air conditioning in our room. It was a little too warm for me.

Almost Perfect
By ,
Resort was beautiful and had a nice, private beach. Everything was very clean and the food in the buffet was excellent. The specialty restaurants were ok, but not as good as the buffet. Rooms were nice...beds were hard but manageable. Only complaint was the noise from the hallways....loud drunks in the middle of the night and rude neighbors. When we complained on one afternoon about the young men across the hall blasting their music and leaving their doors open, we were offered a change of rooms. Not good in my opinion. After further complaints, the annoying neighbors were told to keep it down! Other than the noise, things were perfect. Good service, clean surroundings, great view from the balcony, excellent food and well worth the price. We'll go again next November.

BEST HOTEL
By ,
This hotel had it all..from the beautiful beach front view, great food (bar), awesome staff, and on top of all of that, the room was amazing. Great location:Carlos and Charlie's is across the street, excursions, and shopping are all walking distance. Did I mention the beach front view? This hotel has a swim up bar, and it has a food bar that is open 24hrs! Don't look anywhere else, seriously!
