Gran Porto Real Playa Del Carmen All-Inclusive Resort, Playa del Carmen

We went on vacation at the Gran Porto Real about 2 years ago and had a fantastic time. We went as a group of 10 family members for a wedding, with the youngest being 9 . The accomodations were outstanding, in service and scenery! We purchased the all inclusive and enjoyed not having to worry about budgeting after arriving. The beaches were clean and beautiful, the only complaint would be that the fishing/snorkling boats seemed to take up alot of space in front of the hotel. The employees at the hotel were always friendly and very helpful! Every evening had a different theme or event happening. Playa del Carmen was only a short walk with lots of interesting shops. We would love to go back! And plan on it very soon.

My wife and I got married at the Gran Proto Real about a year ago and we are returning for our first anniversary. The hotel was very clean and everyone was very helpful throughout our stay. Our wedding went off without a hitch and it was the most perfect wedding that we could have had. It was right at sunset over looking the beach and ocean. We had alomst 15 in our group and the hotel took great care of everyone. No problems with our stay. We are looking forward to returning in about a month and we are going to have several of the people who went with us return with us. Everyone loved the hotel and the location. The only problem we encountered was having to leave and return to reality!!! It was hard to say goodbye.

It is common practice at this hotel to overbook their rooms, and move customers to another hotel more than 6 blocks away that is not a pleasant hotel. I was very dissapointed with this process!!!! My group arrived at the hotel at around 7 p.m., to find that we did not have the rooms booked that we had already purchased through a travel agent. I would not book rooms at this hotel again, because they do not honor their reservations.

Hola! My wife and loved this place. We fist walked in our room and it was the largest room we've had in the Cancun area in 20 years. We did not have an ocean view but faced the street, but it was ok. A little walk didn't hurt. Thankgoodness we didn't have an inside hall room where we had no room... The room was VERY nice. I loved the food and restaurant service. I've been going down to Cancun for over 20 years and this was the best food I've had. Cultural-Mexican food, very hot coffee, great desserts, ice cream, etc. The restuarant manager allways greeted us warmly. The beaces were nice but we happended to have lots of seaweed, no fault of the hotel but they raked it daily. The beach `is "open" to everyone and is small, so we had lots of people wondering in front of us all the time. Not as secluded as other resorts where you only see a few locals walking by. We were worried to a small degree on the beach about security but didn't experience anything out of the norm. plus, it's very close to the shopping Downtown so bring some good walking shoes. Overall, this was great and I highly recommend.

If you haven�t been there yet.. you must go !! it�s just the greatest place i�ve ever been to:) words can�t even descripe how wonderful it was.. you just have to find out your selves!!

We visited the hotel in June 2003. My wife and I were captivated by the beauty of the ocean, and we were impressed with the appearance of the hotel and our ocean-front room. The problems that we encountered were that the beach was loaded with large sharp rocks, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the clear water; also, we were bombarded with time-share come-ons in the hotel lobby. The food was disappointing at the hotel. The food was bland, and unimaginative. There was no seafood other than shrimp; try the shrimp seviche! If you want to take advantage of the unlimited beverages at the bar, be prepared to be disappointed. The bar skimped on the alcohol in alcoholic beverages. The bar poured liberal amounts from their bottles, but the bottles clearly were nearly without any alcoholic content. We drank several alcoholic beverages one after another to conclude that the drinks were basically fake. The main pool at the hotel was terrific. It is easy to see why many guests choose to sit by the beautiful pool all day long. All in all, our experience at the hotel was enjoyable and comfortable; just realize that not everything comes off as promised. We would visit this hotel and Play Del Carmen again.

Well the thing i liked the most was the sports entertainment. Hang on to those guys! Especially Rodolfo and Alex. They are great people! There was nothing i didnt like!

I loved everything about the Gra Porto, from the awesome ocean view, to the warm and friendly people. Everything I could think of was taken care of by the fantastic staff. The rooms were large and well appointed. The food was good, and plentiful. You could lounge by the beach, and have Hillario bring you anything you wanted. The ocean was a sparkling turquiose, and the beach, of soft white sand that you could sink your toes into. I was missing it before I had even left! Can't wait to go back!!

For a girl's trip to get away from the kiddos and stresses of life- this was a great place to escape. It has beautiful beaches, friendly service, and we felt safe without our husbands. Next trip, we will be bringing our husbands to enjoy the romantic view

The services was wonderful at the Gran Porto. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at this hotel. The MEX and Italian restaurant was terrific. This hotel and the services is alot better compare to the CocoReef down the beach from the Gran Porto. We have all of our guests staying at the CocoReef due to the Grand Porto was all booked up. We have guests and ourselve talked about coming back to the Gran Porto for our future vacation to Playa Del Carmen. Thanks for the services. You guys did a wonderful job with our wedding accomdations.
