Where do I start...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/23/08
We arrived in our FIRST room to find a dirty, rusting refrigerator...the balcony sliding door would not lock, the front door had obvious signs of a break in...we found a thong on the floor of the bathroom and a nightie in the fold out couch...they moved us and upgraded us to s second room on the second day...it was great, until the air conditioning went out...they fixed it with a shop vac until it went out again 10 minutes later...they moved us to a third room...the toilet ran constantly, but I wasnt about to complain after packing up all of our luggage, groceries, etc two times and moving from the 3rd to 2nd to 4th floor. The hotel's wireless internet can only be used in the tiki bar area...very slow and unable to connect from a room...I tried in all three. Hotel is dated and interiors need some major attention...paint, linens, carpet, furniture, fixtures and appliances. Only serve breakfast on Sat/Sun..Parking is hard to find on weekends, even though all cars are suppose to display a hotel pass on rear view mirror.. This is not policed and no cars were ever towed...Fri/Sat nights good luck...the Tiki Bar patrons can park anywhere without parking pass and they take most of the hotel guest spots...we had to park a block away. Questioned them on this and they said if they were drinking they were hotel guest and could park there without a permit...did not seem right. Wouldnt stay here again, unless they change ownership, all employees go through a customer service class, interior gets a total makeover, etc...Location was the best part of this property.

Going back next month!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/31/07
This place is GREAT! Yes it is not directly on the beach but a very short walk and your there! The rooms are really nice and very clean, The pools are very well kept and the lounge chairs are wiped down everyday. The people who work there are super nice and helpful. and the Tiki Bar Rocks! Love those rum runners! I will stay here every time I am in town! Best Value on the beach!

Worst Ever
By Ben, 03/26/07
We arrived to find our room, so dirty that we asked for our money back and got back into the car to look for another hotel. Our room had food on the floor, food in the microwave, hair on the wall in the shower, garbage on the table and TV, stains on the walls and doors, paint on the chairs, and it looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. We were able to get all of our money back and we ended up staying at the Country Inn and Suites in Fort Myers, a great hotel located one mile from the Sanibel Island causeway. Don't be fooled by the nice pictures on the website, the Lighthouse is a dump.

SORRY, BUT THAT'S WHAT WE SAID ABOUT THE LIGHTHOUSE. TERRIBLY CONGESTED, NO PLACE TO PARK. TRAFFIC WAS AWFUL.

Nice place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/19/06
The place was nice, however the music was way too loud at night and we could not sleep. Also the staff was somewhat rude and did not seem to know exactly how much we were to pay each night(we knew and there were no issues). For the price in the area it is a good find and I would tell people to stay there if you can handle the music.

Very nice.
By Melanie, 05/18/05
I spent my birthday weekend at this Resort, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and I had a wonderful time. I loved the location. The only thing I disliked was the loud music they played in the bar downstairs. ~mel~
