The Worst Hotel on Earth!!!
By Joe, 5/26/12
The prices of the rooms are ridiculous given how unreliable they are. My families room keys malfunctioned several times, the cable box on our TV did not work, the lights in the bathroom burnt out twice and they use a very heavy starch on the bedsheets, it felt like we were sleeping on sandpaper. The staff is incredibly rude particularly the hotel owner Jim who belittled us based on our complaints and would not dignify them with a response. The Water Park was the best part and was fun with a ton to offer, however some of the guards were terrible. There were two, the supervisor and this really cool guy with long hair and a beard and a hat that were attentive, all the other guards seemed offended to be their. The guards weren't watching the pool and I had to run in after my 5 year old or she would have drowned, thank goodness the long haired fellow was good and really helpful and kind or else I would have told them all off. Front desk was also offensive, dishing out insults, bickering and having their front desk manager hide from us in his office while I stood there wanting to confront him for literally 45 minutes, professional my butt, the front desk people need to stop acting like children. The restaurant was expensive and the food was mediocre at best, my son even complained of stomach pains after eating one of their burgers. Long story short if you want to deal with rooms that make a decrepit shack feel like a 5 star experience, rude owners, rude staff, unattentive lifeguards, expensive food and possible food poisoning for about 500$ then by all means go to the Americana, the worst Hotel on Earth.

the Dirty Americana and its management (Lauren)
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/11
first off: anyone reading these reviews can see that management is trying to cover something up. How could it be that most people that write reviews give very specific examples of how dirty, disorganized and absolutely rude the hotel and its staff are... and then.....there are intertwined reviews with "GLOWING" vagueness of how great the hotel is? Answer: the hotel management writes all the four star reviews. If you are reading this, do not go. Here's how they operate in a nutshell: - they prey on unsuspecting tourists booking deals on the web (like me) - the tourist shows up to find this is not the great wolf, but its dirty, disgusting cousin. - they pre-run your credit card before you arrive and then tell you "no refunds on packages". (how nice for them). - staff / management refuses to help on any issue, they have a run around game they like to play ("Lauren is busy, he will call you") - don't fall for it. They ruined my weekend, i feel it's my duty to warn others.

I am currently planning a second visit :)
By MH, 1/15/10
We stayed there over the Christmas holidays when it was extremely busy and we loved it!!!! Our kids are 13, 8 and 2 and they ALL loved it! There are things for the older kids to do like swim, go down the tube and body slides, play ball games in the water, arcade games, etc. We were upgraded to a beautiful two-room suite with a fireplace, which was a pleasant surprise! I did find the chlorine level in the hot tub a bit high. We ate at the restaurant three times & enjoyed the food there. Next trip at the end of this month because my son keeps asking to go back :)

Your call but this is my experience
By L, 12/29/09
the amneties were not bad, but it's more for very little kids, my kids were 12 and 14 and had to go there as it was the only one with space left. Most of the staff were very unfriendly and unhelpfull including the room service ladies, just plain RUDE. the onsite restaurant was one of the worst experiences I had at a restaurant anywhere...very slow and unfriendly service and way toooo expensive for what you get...If you can't find any place else and have small kids than go there.

Hotel was great!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/09
6 in our family and we had a great time at the Waves indoor waterpark. The hotel room was clean and a nice size for us that we were not stepping on one another. Hotel was clean and the staff were awesome. The restaurant attached to it (Jack Tanners) however it way over priced. Yes kids under 10 eat free if you order an entree that is double what you would pay if you were not in Niagara. Anywho restaurants aside the experience was a great one. We will be back and will remember to pack our own food!!!

OK for the most part
By littlekings, 1/2/09
We went for 2 days over New Year's. Kids loved water park. (ages were 8,7 and 3) 2 room suite was large and clean with sink, fridge and microwave. Our only complaint was the onsite restaurant (Jack Tanner's). It was overpriced and service was sloooooow. IHOP down the street wasn't much better.

Don't Do it! Go somewhere else!
By john, 8/23/08
We booked a suite on line. After having been to a Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin we were very dissappointed. No comparison. This is at best a little kiddies park. Had several problems with the door cards not working. The Staff is not knowlegable about local facilities. Was unable to help me find a Post office of all things. Poor cell phone reception. Wireless internet is a joke. Had to go to main lobby in specific spot to connect. They charge $ 1.00 per page to use printer on old computer at $ 10.00 per hour usage. Food at Jack Tanners in hotel was OK but expensive. Falls Shuttle comes every 30 minutes plus or minus. About a 30 minute ride to Falls area. I wish I had the reveiws before we went here. Next time we will go to the Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara!

HORRIBLE SERVICE!
By jlg, 7/11/08
The Americana is a joke! Don't be fooled with its "4 star" reviews, the hotel is nice but the service isn't worth any stars! After paying $500 for a suite, the fuses blew more than once, the food was horrible and overpriced, and after requesting more towels that were never delivered and false directions given by the front desk i would never return. They also deactivated our keys in the middle of the night! Don't waste your money here

Amazing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/2/08
Loved Everything I think most complaints come from people that are not able to afford there room and are looking to get some sort of deal. My children were esctatic about the waterpark and would not stop crying the whole way home.
