Well, it was cheap...
By biker, 08/26/08
I stayed here for two nights while we were in town for a family reunion. The furniture was comfortable enough but the A/C never did work and the room was hot even though it was in the 70's outside. There was no fan in the bathroom. I noticed some old food under one of the beds which was never cleaned while we were there. This hotel, like most others we stayed at recently, places the furniture so that electrical outlets are impossible to reach or something has to be unplugged to plug in anything else. On the upside, the staff was friendly and helpful.

Would never go back-dirty and old bitten by something at night
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/02/08
We booked 2 rooms with other family. Rooms were old, very dirty, night table had dried food on it. While we slept, both rooms, we were bitten by some type of bug. (I hope that they were not bedbugs). This hotel does not rank any stars. Needs to be shut down. I guess you get what you pay for. We got this through priceline. I also would never use them again. We requested a hotel not a MOTEL. The hill to get to our outside room was full of ice and I had a hard time getting up it. We would never go back. Very Very dirty.

thin walls, poor customer service
By Jason O, 12/08/07
The people in the room directly above ours had a very loud argument for about 3 straight hours. We called the front desk 3 times to complain. The third time we asked the hotel to call the police because it sounded like the woman upstairs was thrown into the wall. The police came and the people upstairs quieted down. It is not the hotel's fault that the people were fighting. The main problem I have is that when I spoke to the manager, Sonny, he offered to send me a 50% off coupon good for any America's Best Inn nationwide, and then reneged on his promise. He ended up mailing me a 25% off coupon good only in Dubuque. I called Sonny back, but he gave me the run-around, said I would only be getting the 25% off coupon, thank you, and that was it. I recommend staying somewhere else if possible.

Worst Motel Ever!
By Shawn, 08/14/06
I made a reservation for this motel online but when I arrived they didn't have the room I reserved. Instead they gave me a smaller room that was absolutely filthy and did not have the wireless internet I requested. I promptly returned my room key and stayed at another hotel.

we recommend it.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/17/06
we stayed there on 7/05/06, and we liked the price and breakfast. clean, comfortable and affordable. No fuss service. We are on fixed income, so its nice to stay at a place like this.

This is the place they send you when all hotels are full
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/06
Dirty carpets, bugs, other guest's trash under the beds. Run down premises. Room decor out of the 70s. Water damage and missing door trim in the bathroom. Missing remote for TV. This is where my first TV with remote that I bought in the 80s wound up. When the other hotels in town are fully booked they send people that are looking for a room here because there is always an open room. The Super 8 down the street is much nicer and no more expensive.

Don't book online!
By Richard, 02/14/06
I booked two nights at this hotel at 59.99 per night. When I arrived there was a big sign out front that said the rooms were only 39.99 per night. I had to pre-pay for the reservation and the motel said they could not do anything about it. The rooms are clean and well maintained but not professionally. I would stay here again but would call the hotel for reservations.

Bad smell.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/06
The room was full of a very strong and unpleasant perfumy deodorant smell that did not go away with airing out the room, which was hard anyway because the windows did not open. The heater controls were very hard to operate. Service okay. I was very glad when morning came and I was able to leave. Probably just a problem with individual property, or even with individual room, but I won't stay at this chain again.

Best Inn is good for what it is
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/27/04
Generally this is a clean and well-run hotel of its sort -- inexpensive simple rooms opening right off the parking lot. I had no problem getting checked in by a friendly night staffer even though I got in around 11:00p (which I hear is very late for Dubuque). Location was easy to find, but right on U.S. 20. There was significant traffic noise on the street-side rooms. You might try asking for a room on the side away from the highway. Overall it was an OK place to crash overnight; needs more amenities for a longer stay.
