Cayucos Sunset Inn Bed & Breakfast, Cayucos

Despite the fact that this place is called a B&B...the only B&B fact is that they offer a wine+cheese reception and breakfast. Otherwise, this place was built as a suites only hotel. The rooms are very elegantly furnished. Cayucos is a very small, one-horse type of town - we had never been there before. It lacks the ocean beauty of Cambria or Pismo beach but it's alright. The hotel barely has ocean and pier views. It's weak to say the least...kinda like the difference between a white water ocean view versus a blue water ocean view. This is definitely blue and only from the 2nd floor balconies. Otherwise, it overlooks Ocean Avenue which is the main thoroughfare in Cayucos. We had two suites - the Sunset & the Palais...both were very, very nice. The rooms: Way awesome. Excellent. Marble bathrooms, Old World/French-influenced design, soaking whirlpool tubs, canopy beds...two fireplaces! Our shower was HUGE. DVD players. In the lobby, they have a modern collection of films in their DVD library which you can borrow for free. The food: They offered cookies and milk with their turndown service. Wine & Cheese receiption included shrimp. You are given a choice for breakfast and they offered plenty of food and selections. The service: You learn the names of the very friendly staff quickly. They resolved a few issues we had - all very minor. Overall, an excellent experience and we would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I go here several times a year. The service is phenomenal (as is the staff). I would recommend teh Sunset Inn to anyone wanting an upscale establishment. The Suites are all gorgeous and roomy. The breakfasts are to die for!
