Unless you want an infestation of bed bugs to take home with you, do not stay here.

All was looking good for placing my meeting at this hotel. Until we got to the part that we would need to pay $2.50 per KB for the meeting room internet. That is about $3000 for my meeting and it is unacceptable.–(someone signed a really bad deal with UBhan- this company is all over Europe) . Unacceptable for me. I will need to look elsewhere for my meeting. .

This is the nicest and newest hotel in downtown Hartford, located next to the Convention Center and new science center. Not much else going on in Hartford, but construction in the area indicates this could change over the next few years. Hotel staff were more than accommodating, pleasant, knowledgeable, and willing to help. The rooms were reasonable with great bed and flat screen TV, many ammenities. Should have free internet at this point in time. Crush is a modern, pleasant bar and the restaurant is surprisingly good. Worth a stay if you are in town.

when i went there i was greeted as i walked through the door my waitress was probely the best in her perfession. the food was great and the best i ever had. i had a ny strip and it was cooked to perfection and taste great.

As Times Changes, Good Things Go Bad - Feb 15, 2008 I have dined at VIVO many times, but not in the past year. When looking for Valentine's Day options, my wife and I chose VIVO as we have always had great meals and impeccable service. Unfortunately, it seems that was the old VIVO. Not only was our food horrible (Fried Calamari & Baked Poached Lobster which actually is only 1 claw and a tail that are miniature in size), the service from the beginning was horrible. The hostess was not acknowledging guests (not just us) as they walked up to check in. Rather you stood there dumbfounded until she could be bothered to look up. Our waitress was probably one of the worst at her profession. We saw her a total of only 3 times throughout our meal. Had I needed another beer, it would have been faster to brew it myself then to wait for her to assist. When the manager brought our food to the table, I asked where the rest of the lobster was. The waitress walking by answered the question. The manager did not understand my concern. His solution was to bring this crepe type log filled with, or at least I was told, lobster meat. Horrible. Bottom line is this. This is a great restaurant that has lost its way. It apparently has become just a high-end "chain type" food establishment. To continue to call it true restaurant would be a gross overstatement.

I paid $210 plus tax per night. I requested for for double beds and a roll away bed and was not provided with any. I paid $9 dollars more at the time of booking to add breakfast when I went to check-in they said no you cannot have breakfast even if you did pay more. It was horrible. They did not even have sufficient towels. Very rude staff, even the manager on 7/6/07 would not cooperate. Treated the guests like they were staying there for free.

After spending many dollars in the VIVO Restuarant (food very mediocore and price High) the night before, and then going down for breakfast the next day at 2 minutes after 9, we were told that we could only get the $25.00/per person buffet. Left and had breakfast elsewhere

The Crush at the Marriott downtown was a surprising little placed tucked away inside the hotel. The bartenders were sweet and the music was jamin'. However, the drinks were above average...nothing to write home about. The ambiance was really swanky...a fun place to hang out with friends!

When I arrived, I was greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable Valet, Patrick, who took care of my car and my luggage quickly and promptly. He noticed that the trunk on my car was malfunctioning and took the time to get the phone number, directions, and service hours of the closest dealer to have my car repaired. The rooms were great and the restaurant was wonderful. They have a beautiful pool and spa on the top floor with beautiful views of the city. I will definetley be returning and recommend this hotel to anyone.

We drove into the city to see the Convention Center and grab a meal. At valet parking my wife had to get out of the car and go inside to find someone to take the car. Strike one. The much talked about bar Crush was closed. NO surprise. This is Hartford on a Sunday. Strike two. We found the hotel restaurant and ordered wine & soup to start. The server came back & told us they were out of both our choice of wine and our choice of soup. Strike three. We should have left. But we ordered salads and entrees. The salad took 25 mins to appear. The entree another 18 mins. To be fair, the food was good and portions generous. The server was pleasant. But 25 mins for a bowl of lettuce & croutons is unacceptable. Now it was time to retrieve our car from valet service. There are no signs in the lobby directing people to valet pick up at the rear entrance. How is one supposed to know where to go without signs or verbal instructions from the person who took our car at the front entrance on arrival? The restaurant staff made a call to valet service and said we were "all set." We found the rear entrance on our own & waited 20 mins. No car. We found a valet desk outside out of view of the lobby. They knew nothing of a call from the restaurant & we waited another 10 mins for our car. As in other Marriotts, the left hand has no idea what the right is doing. Customer service is the worst at these places. We will not return to the Convention Center and will discourage others from doing so.
