the hotel was great. the room was great. the food was great. the pool was great. the service was great. i would stay here again.

Our room was at the 16th level,great view,but the bed is turn in front of the bathrom,why not?,we order a dinner to room service,the meal arrive cold...The room was not sound proof,so the local fire brigade keep you awake each time they scramble like in any good american movie,2am,4am...Room service call us for the wake up call at about 2am,the only problem they had the wrong room our wake up call was at 7am...the parking for the car was not complementary,that is ok,but nobody told us it will be around 40$ a day!! plus we tip each time when they brought our car(the tip was include already) but nobody told us no thanks,it's include;45$ dollars a day ,when the most expensive parking building is around 20$ a day,the last drop was that room service took our champagne glasses by mistakes (old Laurent perrier glasses)and lost them..for 1000$ for 2 nights I was not very happy...

Good place to stay! My favorite hotel in this area for sure. Staff was kind. Ended up getting this hotel pretty cheap at SweetHotelDeals. Net actually.

St. Regis is an absolutely exquisite hotel! I have stayed in many hotels and this was the best. Maid service was spot on and always kept the room clean, the butler service was excellent always seeing to our needs promptly, and the front desk was amazingly helpful. The bartenders made the most excellent drinks (our lemon drops were out of the world) and we were close to most of the fun in San Francisco. I would recommend it to anyone!

Wow! what value! The restaurant in this Hotel is the very best in the entire world! Period! Stay here just for that! Or for the top-notch service, incredible decor/appointments, beds are almost as sumptuous as the restaurants desserts!

A very grand hotel, we loved it, we have a very large room with great views. We found the staff friendly and professional and the rooms and service to be exceptional. The location is great for shopping, walking and restaurants. The tram line stops just outside of the Hotel. Great breakfast and room service

I'm no high roller and I don't stay at luxury hotels often. But for me, this place sets the bar high, mostly because of the staff. The staff, including the reservation clerk, the valet, the desk clerk, the bell service, the concierge, the butler, the waiters, everybody, were warm and friendly and provided excellent service without any hint of stuffiness. They were attentive without being obtrusive, observant, helpfull, and enthusiastic, and made us feel right at home. The room was immaculate and very well appointed. The bed alone was worth the bill. Our stay was short and I didn't get to try the food or ancillary facilities, but I recommend this hotel highly. Thank you, hotel staff.

Fabulous rooms - spacious, crisp, comfortable, well appointed! Luxurious beds. Very fancy, high tech, room control system - a little fidgety, but gives you something to play with if you are bored. Excellent service & very friendly staff. The food is good, perhaps even very good, but not outstanding. The pool is small, but very nice, and not crowded. Loved swimming laps, but I imagine if it had more than 3-4 people in it, you couldn't do much more than just kick back and enjoy the atmosphere. Great location too! Union square, Market street, SoMa, MoMA, China Town, North beach, and the cable cars are all within a couple of blocks. Ghiradelli, Fisherman's wharf are just a cable car ride away... By the way, if you want a luxury hotel with great views, go to the Mandarin Oriental. However, the Mandarin lacks in all the other qualities you would expect from a hotel of this class. The St. Regis however excels!

I LOVED this place. WE have stayed several places in SF several times including the St. Francis and Hyatt in Union Square, and the Ritz Carlton and Mandarin Oriental. THIS is far and above better than anywhere we have stayed in the city and almost anywhere we have traveled. The service is impecable. From the doorman and bellmen upon arrival to the desk staff upon checking in, they were all very accomodating and helpful. We were even asked if there was an occasion for our stay and when we told them it is our anniversary, the girl asked how long and said they would be sending up something special. They not only sent up a bottle of wine with glasses etc., but a hand written note congratulating us and specifically noting how many years we were celebrating. It's the little details that can make the biggest differences at a hotel. Our "butler" came to help when we couldn't figure out the high tech stereo (just had to unplug a cord) and some of the gadgets. I felt silly for asking about simple things but she was very happy to help and didn't make us feel dumb for not figuring it out. The room itself (1006) was amazing. When you look in the American Express fine hotels book we have and look for this hotel it shows basically the exact room we had. It over looks 3rd st. which is the hub of the area. We looked down on Yerba Buena Gardens, the Metreon, Moscone Center and were next door literally to the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art). Just 2 blocks away is the fabulous San Francisco Shopping Center and one block further Union Square. The room is beautifully modern, clean both literally and design wise. Large Plasma TV on wall, closet and drawers and mini bar all hidden behind doors that are flush with wall and blend in. Keeps room looking very uncluttered and simple looking yet SO elegant. Bath tub seperates bathroom and bedroon but has doors which close if needed. Shower and toilet closet have frosted glass doors and marble; just so nice. Oh yes, there is a "control center" located at the bedside that controls all window covering functions by remote (Large, high windows) both shades and black out curtains. Beautiful chaise chair sits right by window for looking out at city. The control center also acts as a way to contact the butler, the desk, anyone you may need. I have never seen this amenity anywhere else. The lobby and bar was a very nice comfortable area, beautifully decorated and with lots of seating and access to the front door and car arrival areas. A very modern fireplace is a great focal point to the lobby and bar. Evening found this area quite full of young hip business looking folks but not uncomfortably crowded. Didn't get to use the spa services but went down there to see it as American Express gave us a $75 credit in products there and if we had more time I can tell it would be a wonderful spa experience. The adjacent pool area, indoors, was beautiful as well. Sleek and modern with amazing cushy seating areas. I could not if I tried find a negative to say about this place. Ok, we also heard the fire engine sirens (station close by) but we were up high enough (10th floor) it didnt wake us at night and truly, its just part of "city sounds" you have to expect in a big city !
