Down in the Dumps!!!
By Tom, 9/20/11
We made room arrangements through a friend of the owner and were given an amazing rate of $39.95 per night for two nights, Friday and Saturday. I really thought we got a good rate and the pictures of the Inn were ok. When we arrived they didn't know who we were or what room we were in. It took 2 hrs for the Counter Clerk to figure everything out, and he wasn't friendly about it. The Hotel felt more like a Half Way House. Clothes hanging over balconies, dirty, loud, peoples doors open, with families of six or more people, stinky, smokey, an occassional illegal drug smell, old laminated particle board furniture from the 80's, cheep polyester linens, tile coming off in shower, really bad breakfast, rock hard beds, old small tube tv with a not so clear picture, panel fell off a/c unit, very loud with highway 40 yards away. The only perk was the bar nextdoor made really good Bloody Marys. You will need one after staying in this Shack. Good Luck!!! I would reccommend paying a little more for a safe good nights sleep.

Don't waste your time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/23/09
Horrrible travel experience dealing with hotel. Old hotel and in dire need of updating. Small rooms, wife bumped into heater on wall and cover fell off and hit me in the head, causing a bump and bleeding. Went to manager to show him what happened and he said that has never happened before and told me it really happened while we were skiing earlier in the day at Snowbowl ( I don't ski, kids did). I told him I had witnesses and the cover was still off the unit. Manager said the witnesses were family members and therefore would lie. Went skiing next day, did not check out, came back that night and they had rented our room to another family! Our keys still worked, I had paid for 3 nites and only stayed 2 because the room was rented out! Manager showed up to attach heater cover to wall with no appologies. Morning breakfast is a joke.

Will definately return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/27/07
The motel looks like it has been renovated recently, I picked this motel because of the free wireless internet. Another pluse was the microwaves refrigerator and coffee maker in the room, I would recomend this place to anyone traveling through Flagstaff. The rooms were clean the staff was excellent.

Don't stay here!
By Tracey, 6/26/07
Arrived at 3pm with reservation. Was checked in, given key, then told the room had a late check out and the housekeeping staff had gone home. As my husband is a smoker, we needed a smoking room. The manager just kept telling us " to smoke outside". Not acceptable. We finally got our money back. Place looked dumpy, not so nice people hanging around. A disgrace to the Choice Hotel Group. Beware of reserving here!

Are we all talking about the same place??
By Betty Kay, 1/29/06
This place is a dump! Dirty, moldy and very poorly furnished. The staff is rude and unfriendly, they have real issues with helping guests. The place is loud - directly on a main road, near the train tracks which have trains whizzing by every ten minutes at night. I would NEVER stay here again, there are lots of nice motels for the same price. Who could give this place 5 stars?????

Don't stay here.
By Dieter, 1/27/06
Very unfriendly, not very clean and very cold in Jan. no heating!!!! The place is very loud, paper thin walls. The bed was old and uncomfortable. It is located close to lots of fast food places. It is near the observatory, at least one plus point.

Never again EVER, awful !!!!!
By RAINDANCE, 1/4/06
The rooms are dirty, moldy and cold. No heating in DEC:!!!! The manager had no personality what so ever and couldn't speak english, in fact she was RUDE, aggressive, uncouth and unfriendly! The mattress was like laying on sticky floor! The bathroom is looks like something out of 1900. The trains go by all night and there are wierd looking people hanging around the place. Don't plan on getting a good breakfast here - old bread(turned up at the corners) beside a toaster- no coffe. After staying 4 hours we left - couldn't wait to leave this dump. Never again for any price! By the way, there are so many nice motels in Flagstaff - cheap does not have to mean dirty and grungy which is what these people think.

Great staff, nicely maintained property
By Mark Messinger, 12/15/05
This is a tough review to write. The staff was great; really helpful, always available and I think they take pride in their hotel. The rooms are in great shape; recently remodelled, quiet (so far as noise from the neighboring units is concerned). However, the location is right on the old Route 66, which means it's noisy. Busses early in the morning, traffic pretty much all night long. Worse thing is the freight trains, though. Late into the night, every 12 minutes or so. 'Felt like the train was travelling through our bathroom. Flagstaff is an old crossroads for the trains and you really get to experience it at this hotel. Really good value, but you are now forewarned about the noise. Oh, and the location within Flagstaff is really very good.

Dump
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/05
The manager had no personality what so ever, in fact he was down right RUDE! The mattress was like laying on the floor! Don't plan on getting an early start to your day if you want the free breakfast, because it doesn't start untill 7:30! Never again for any price!
