Will NEVER stay at this hotel again!
By ,
My fiance and I went on this vacation with two other couples. None of us have ever been to Cabo before so we really had no idea where we should stay. I usually go to Cancun which I definitely prefer over Cabo. We went for 5 days and arrived on March 17th. Check in took FOREVER! There was a huge line and only 2 people working at the front desk which was ridiculous! Luckily, our room was ready right away. We got to our room and I was NOT impressed. First of all, there was no safe!! Luckily, my suitcase locks so I felt safer locking my things in there. The room was pretty small and there also was not a mini fridge which I expected. The bed was hard as rock! I thought all hotels were supposed to have comfy beds! Apparently NOT my back hurt every morning! Our first day we got drinks right away of course! The plastic cups are miniature! Why not give us big cups, its all free anyways! I did like that the resort was big and there were lots of pools. The FOOD was terrible. I was so disappointed. I didn't expect amazing food but I at least thought it would be good! There were some things that I would take 1 bite of and then refuse to eat, AND things were cold and they were so bad at refilling food items that ran out. OH and don't be surprised if you see food that was at dinner, at breakfast the next day! All of us tried eating some chicken at one of the buffets and it was pink! so we stopped eating that right away! We heard you could make a reservation to eat at a restaurant a la carte where they serve you so we figured it must be better food. First of all, no matter how early we made the reservation in the day it seemed the only available time was 9:30pm! So we finally agreed and we waited all night to eat and we get to the restaurant and it wasnt even busy! Oh and we were not impressed. It is supposed to be ala carte but they still make you get up and serve yourself salad and soup. Also, there are I think 5 different restaurants so you think wow thats a good variety EXCEPT like only ONE is open at a time. Like there is only ONE place for breakfast or ONE place to eat dinner so that wasn't what we expected. We thought breakfast was the best meal they served out of everything. Oh and their "grill hut restaurant" which has burgers and chicken and nachos" well the burgers are terrible they are like patties and not fresh ones. So then we thought oh I bet the chicken is good. NOPE processed meat, its not even a real chicken breast sandwhich. So there were very few things we liked eating at the resort. We all agreed that the bread/rolls were the best thing they served! We alll also had stomach aches from the food. Also, the location of this place sucks because it is the farthest hotel from all the action. We are all younger in our early 20's and we felt there was nothing to do! the cab ride into town is $35 each way! The beach is way nicer in town and there is a lot going on. There is lots of nice shopping in town and REAL food! There are definitely a lot of spring breakers on the beach but we had a lot of fun being around the action! We did not have a problem with any of the staff. They were all very nice and helpful, its just a shame no one there knows how to cook! There also was NO mexican food! We were all disappointed because it would have been nice if they had a mexican night, or fajitas or burritos! over all, we all had a nice vacation and had fun, but we will never stay at this place again. Definitely DO NOT come here if you are expecting good food or nice rooms. Also, if you do come here make sure to bring a huge plastic cup with you. We noticed a lot of other people using their own cups because the bartenders will make your drinks in whatever cup you give them. We probably did get our moneys worth hough because for $950 we got flight, room, unlimited food and drink so that was good at least. But its vacation, you are supposed to enjoy food!

Holiday Inn Resort
By ,
We booked hotel room 7118 at the Holiday Inn Resort in Los Cabos for 7 days. We had luke warm water at best. The electricity was out for 12 hours in our room & in other rooms too. They did not like to serve you drinks if you asked for a brand name liquor. You had to make reservations for dinner in approximately 1/2 hour window early in the AM or you ate buffet outside, as reservations went fast. They say they have free room service but they do not, it actually costs 500 peso's. If you are looking to be in an all inclusive that is rocking all night, this is not the place as the young people had to shuttle in to town 20 miles away. The wi-fi was spotty at best. The food was very poor, meaning the hamburger I ordered resembled horse meat. All the bars closed early, late afternoon leaving only one bar open, which the one or two bartenders could not keep up. I would rate this as a two & heck I am old & should like this boring place.

not good at all
By ,
first you can not swim in ocean just you have pool. Second at night you have to stay in line to take sit for buffet and when you want to get food or salad is not there because they just bring small bowl just enough for 3 or 4 people and will take at least 10 minutes to fill up. Third there is no night show at all just singer for 2hour will sing. You really get board .And never talk with people standing from hotel for time share.SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Will never go back
By ,
Our first impression was negative with the pushy timeshare people that linger in the lobby everyday and the best meal of the day is breakfast. My sister and I stayed for one week and we both were disappointed. The grounds were clean and there was hardly anyone at the pools due to the very cold water in them. I felt that the activity people were both annoying and pushy. If you sat at the activity pool and you didn't want to join their silly games that you shouldn't be sitting there. The food was horrible for lunch and supper. Even the reserved restaurants were terrible. They were always changing the location of the restaurant every night. It seemed that the Napa was the most used but not according to the schedule. I think that they should have an updated schedule with all the changes. The rooms were okay but it would of been nice instead of a patio 2nd floor room that you would actually have a deck to set out on. We felt our room had a musky smell to it. The entertainment was terrible. With the cool evenings it would of been nice to have supper inside the building. Talking to the ladies who clean the rooms is like playing charades (don't have a clue of english) and some of the other workers, too. The front desk staff are very helpful but we did put in for a wakeup call that we never got, thank goodness I set my own personal alarm or we may of missed out on our 8am excursion we had booked. This is definately not a four and a half star hotel. We would give it 3. Penny from Alberta, Canada

Loved the Area, Hotel a Disappointment
By ,
Although the grounds were beautiful and will maintained, and we loved the area, we would not stay at this hotel again. On check in, we were taken to our room in the "3" building at it appeared great. It is the "lobby" building We had a balcony and a nice view. Unfortunately, the evening entertainment is in that building so the noise is intolerable. We could not be moved until 2 nights later, when an "equivalent" room became available. This room was in building 5 and we had the continuous noise of the "machine yard". At least, I guess, this was a constant hum. Still, not great. Food wise, the selection was poor and reservations at the "sit downs" difficult to get, involving line ups. It also seemed that except for breakfast, the orange juice was "crystals". As a result, we will return to the area but will never stay at this "resort" again.

Things to know before you go
By ,
You need to be aware this is a "Time-Share" hotel, not just a hotel. That means you WILL have someone trying to get you to come to the meetings to buy-in to a time-share. This happens every morning outside breakfast and when you first walk in. They don't let you go to your room before sitting you down at a desk and making you tell them NO. The next is don't be fooled by six places to eat. They only have one open at a time. Food is so so and limited menus. Also, if you don't know the area make sure you know the difference between Cabo San Jose and Cabo San Lucas...They are different places altogether. Lastly, if you want to swim in the ocean go to Maui. Waves and strong under current prevent swimming. Lastly, I am not sure why, but there was a termendous language barrier with 70% of the staff or they were taught to make people give up. You need to ask for the upscale margarita or you should expect lemonade. It took 3 nights to push for top grade tequila. Lastly, Wine and most typical good menu items are all NOT part of the all-inclusive. If you want Steak or Wine you pay! Good luck. Oops, one more thing, sever mildew smell in the ocean front rooms. Had sinus problems for two weeks.

Relaxing
By ,
Pros: The hotel was clean and beautifully landscaped. The town of San Jose is quiet, this is not a place to go if you are looking to get wild, which is not what we were looking for so we loved our Honeymoon. We were given a free upgrade to an ocean view for our Honeymoon which was nice. We enjoyed the food, especially the outdoor grill that served fantastic quesadillas and tacos. The staff was friendly, mostly bilingual, room was clean. Breakfast starts at 7am, two lunch restaurants each day and choice of a buffet dinner or a reservation dinner. We tried both and liked them. Swim up bars are awesome, especially in the activity pool where the activity staff was hysterical. 24 hour room service but there is a $2.50 delivery charge. We will probably not go back just because we always try to somewhere different each year, however, we would definitely suggest this place to anyone looking to relax in Mexico. Cons: 30 minutes from downtown Cabo where most of the excursions and major shopping are located, the cab ride there is $35, the hotel ran an occasional shuttle for $10 per person into Cabo and had a designated time to bring people back a few hours later, another $10 each to get back. The bars do not open until 1030am and close at 11pm. The only beers offered are Corona or Tecate on tap. Our room did not have a bathtub. The timeshare people can get a little annoying but we just learned to ignore them. Sea was too rough to swim in if you care about that.
