Holiday Inn Express and Suites Mesquite, Mesquite

I contacted the Falcon Ridge Hotel, to make a reservation for my family several weeks before our trip to Mesquite. The clerk on the phone barked at me that "He was to busy to talk", and that I should "check the availability on their web page if I wanted to make a reservation". *At this point I should have known to go some where else.. Following the clerk's direction to make a reservation I logged onto the Hotel's web page, (falconridgereservations@gestproperties.com), and after checking the the availability for my travel dates I made a guaranteed reservation using my Visa Card and received a email reservation confirmation with their confirmation number. On our day of travel we arrived at the Falcon Ridge and found the front desk and lobby area completely vacant / empty. Eventually the desk clerk straggled in from outside mumbling that he would be with us "in a while". After a considerable delay he finally made his way back behind the front desk and I presented a copy of our reservation confirmation with confirmation number to check in. At that point the front desk clerk seemed to have a melt down right in front of us becoming aggressive, belligerent, rude and totally unprofessional. He gruffly told us that they were "sold out" and that he didn't have our reservation or a room for us. Then rather then help us locate other accommodations or help us in any way he acted like we had done something wrong and waved us off "dismissing us" and began waiting on other people that had arrived after us. *I have to ask where was the management at this place? I am positive that all of the larger Casino Hotels and Motel chains, (like the Best Western,) in Mesquite, would handle this situation in a more professional and more hospitable manor rather then rudely telling the guest with a confirmed reservation to "get out" and "go away". I suggest that you make your plans and reservations at larger Hotel or Motel chain where they might actually have your reserved room for you when you get there.

We stayed in a room on the first floor. The room was a suite and it had a king and a walk out balcony. The bathroom was a pretty big. For the $85 we paid using hotels.com to stay here we were satisfied. The staff was less than helpful, but we expected that going in thanks to the other reviews on this site. I did not see any bugs or have any other bad expereinces. This hotel is also pet friendly.

I loved that it was so quiet with no gambling machines in the whole hotel. It was very refreshing. Even had a player piano playing when we checked in.

The staff is uninterested in service and rude. The complimentary breakfast is worth what we paid, nothing! Maids push there carts in the elevator a head of guests.We were pinned by there cart in the back of the car. Wireless service does not work.

My grandson wanted to stay with his baseball team so we paid $100 per night more than the others. No consideration given. This is a glorified travel lodge with the most antiquated elevator you will find. The breakfast is ridiculous for the price charged. Mildew on seal of tub. This group is not here to serve, but to collect.

The front desk staff left a lot to be desired. They seem to be unable to answer questions such as "Do you have a room available?", etc. The speed at which the check in was conducted was very slow. I'd take a smokey casino room over this... Wait, maybe not, but pretty darn close.

The front desk clerk was inefficient at his job. It took this person over 30 minutes to check in 1 guest. In the amount of time it took, we could have been half way to Las Vegas. No additional hotel staff was called in to assist with check-in despite a growing line of guests. The elevator was terrifying. It groaned and shook violently when it stopped at the 4th floor. Our family of 6 opted to walk all 4 flights of stairs instead of riding the elevator. The breakfast offered in the morning was marginal and smelled bad. But what really topped off our visit was when our 3 year old found pornography in the room. The cleaning staff should make sure that any item left by a prior guest is removed before a subsequent guest uses the room. I would not recommend this hotel. It was not worth the money we paid for 1 night. There is a Best Western in the same town that I have stayed at previously and it was much nicer.

I made an online reservation, arrived at this disaster, waited 45 min for 4 people to check in, then the desk manager denied the (prepaid) reservation, said he had no available rooms and waited on the next victim. During the (now) 1 hr at the desk, he claimed to customers at the desk and over the phone that he only had 2 rooms left 5 times! When I showed him the reservation confirmation he said "you paid someone else, not us". While I looked for customer service at the reserving website, he answered the phone and again claimed only 2 rooms. I went ballistic on this desk clerk, he then agreed to rent me a room. I discovered in the morning that the reservation had been faxed at 5PM, but ignored. They refunded the $120 double charge and felt that made it OK.

I would not go back to this hotel if i had to sleep in a dupster. the managment staff were rude and unprofessional. they are only interested in revenue and do not care about there customers. Per conversation with the manager they donot care about reservations or customers, there main goal is to sell out there rooms at make the most possible from that. Therefore if you get the room at a discounted rate they can and will sell it to someone willing to pay more for that room whether you have a reservation or not. When confronted with this they stated verbatum"im the manager and i can do what i want, if you dont like it dont stay here." To make a long story short we didnt stay there and found a place where the staff was friendly and courteous.

Arrived with our dog to check in and they said they did not have our reservation. They never bothered to look at their faxes!! It was right in front of their faces. They did nothing to help us find another room or even apologize. They wrecked our vacation!!
