Will Be Back!!
By Wendy, 04/12/09
From the time we got there, we had a wonderful experience. This place was just as nice as they said it would be. We stayed on the 6th floor, on the north side of the building. Had a nice view of the beach. Staff was great. A must visit!!!

It's okay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/14/09
We loved the location, the beach, walking to town to eat. But we're from Chicago so we are used to walking a lot, some people might think the town is too far to walk. Desk attendees very helpful, professional, courteous. Housekeeping a little crabby (I asked for an extra blanket three times before finally getting one and they were not happy about it). Nice having a full kitchen. Do NOT expect a balcony even if they say you'll get one when making a reservation. Place is clean but very dated. It was quiet which was very nice. Another review mentioned nudity on the beach which was true when we stayed there. Everytime we walked on the beach (which was about 3 times a day for a week) there was topless women. Which surprised me that the law wasn't enforced because there were a lot of families and children around. We enjoyed our vacation but probably will never stay there again.

We all loved it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/13/09
The one bedroom (devided studio, the smallest suite) - was large, bright, comfortable, well furnished, maintained & equiped, and very conmfrotable for the 3 of us. The beds - (including the pull out couch) were surprisingly comfortable & the deviding wall was solid & well sound attenuated. The staff - everyone of them, were helpful, curteous and we actually looked forward to interacting with them. The Play room - with internet connection allowed me to priint my return pre-flight boarding pass, a real plus. Outside - the upper patio / pool / hot tub area was very large & comfy & the lower landscaped activity / bar bq / sun area was very comfortable & tropical in feeling. S hopping & dining for Kosher - was as close as 1 min. away at 94th & Harding & collins & 72 St. Also mid point between Sunny Isle & 41st St. (approx. 18 mins away) away which have numerous kosher facilities. Generally the 'Vibe' was excellent. Hope to return some day to this reasonably small 'Gem' on Collins Ave. A realy satified Canadian

New Year '09
By Jul, 01/03/09
Liked: Location is on the North Surfside of Miami Beach away from the crowded South Beach area and is near a high end shopping center "Bel Harbour" and Mall. The 1 bedroom was large with a full kitchen where we cooked breakfast every morning. All the amenities were very clean and well taken care of. I liked the valet parking, but would have rather tipped the drivers instead of paying the hotel $3/day. We stayed on the 4th floor where we sat and watched the sunset every night, it was fantastic. A taxi to go to South Beach was only $20 each way. Disliked: Having to pay extra to have our room cleaned and fresh towels replaced. We just checked out beach towels and used them in the room in order to avoid this fee. Having to pay $2/day for a safe that we did not even use.

I can't wait to leave
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/18/08
Our room smelled & the only view we had was over the parking ramp & the building next door. Yes, you can walk to the beach but that's true for most of Miami. Don't let the website fool you! This is an old hotel reconditioned for timeshare people that take the advice of their representative & assume it's a new place. This is a dump. Their staff could care less about your concerns, especially if they have already been paid. The only people who like this place don't know the difference from truly good places.

We cant wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/08
We liked the location, it was the greatest, we were able to walk to the beach and we watched the sunset from our balcony! This hotel had a small kitchen so I was able to cook for my family to save a little money from eating out every night. The room was clean and the staff was great! No complaints! We stayed in September 2007.

June Vacation
By Jeffrey W, 09/14/07
We went down in mid June and had a great time. Location is far enough from South Beach to eliminate some traffic but close enough to get into the excitement of the area. Miami has so much to do, sports, nightlife, restaurants and great cigars.

one of the best vacations
By DianaK, 08/12/07
I go on vacation almost three timesa year and solar surfside was one of the best so far. It is kind of far way from miami. I would say it takes around 10 min, so you would need a car. The hotel is really clean. Theres alot to do. You are never bored. I also loved the beach. The water was so clean, clear, and warm. The pool was also very nice to go to after the beach. Now about the room, me and my family really wanted a room with a balcony and 2 bedrooms but they were booked already but the room we still got was still nice. We were only in the room to sleep and eat lunch. Most of the day were at the beach or miami. Service is great. They take your car and park it. Its really fast. Theres vollyball, etc. Hope you visit there, you wont regret it.
