BEST WESTERN PLUS Laval-Montreal, Laval

If you plan to book this hotel on-line using Internet, I suggest that you think twice. Apparently, it is your responsibility if reservation is not correct. In our case we had a printout of the confirmation with the number of guests, etc. In the hotel they had info about our reservation, but a different number of guests associated with our reservation. When we arrived to the hotel, we were told that there was an error in the registration and that we could not check-in with the number of people that we had on our printed confirmation page. After asking the receptionist to talk to Reception Manager, we were told that manager's response was that it is our responbility to call web site that made the reservation and clear the error with them.

We had a family trip there in early November of 2008. Price to value was excellent. Nice pool and free breakfast in the morning. The rooms were clean and service was impeccable. I would definitely recommend this place.

This hotel is located at a convenient location if you have a car. There is a big shopping mall and theatre nearby and it's close to downtown Montreal (about 20 minutes drive) and Mont Tremblant (1 hour 10 minutes drive). Their service was excellent! Without requesting, they offered us a room with queen sized bed and jacuzzi. Before i got the key, I was wandering at the brochures and the girl at front desk right away handed me a booklet of coupons and showed me the way back to downtown Montreal. I didn't know how to turn the jacuzzi on so I went back to the front desk. In less than 2 minutes a guy came showed me. (one little flaw is that there was a problem with the air conditioner for our room and the guy couldnt' fix it) The hotel also includes breakfast so for under $100 it's quite a good deal. Stay at this hotel if you have a car. Why bother staying downtown Montreal?

This is a two-star hotel with an inexplicable three-star rating. Upon arrival we were told that our rate was 20.00 a night more than initially agreed upon, and had to have that verified and corrected. (To make matters worse, the Best Western call centre had misspelt my last name and failed to send me a confirmation e-mail). No assistance with our baggage or anything else was offered upon arrival. Once in our room, the promised pay TV feeds did not work and the toilet bowl was wobbly; we had to flush three or four times to get it to work properly. One had to sign with room number for the "complimentary" continental breakfast consisted of three choices offered by the hotel (or one could order from the convenient and overpriced pay-per-meal menu). This was the first time I've had to sign for a complimentary continental breakfast or have had the hotel limit me to one choice with no substitutions (seriously). The only thing that works as promised is the free high-speed Internet.

My wife and I travelled to Montreal and booked a 3 night stay there. Staff was great, hotel was clean and was able to use my laptop with highspeed internet without any problems! Hotel also has a interior courtyard restaurant and pool. Great stay and good price. I would highly recommend it.

The only thing that i disliked was the smell of the cigaretts. I think that they should have gotten rid of the smell better in the other non-smoking rooms, because I could smell the smoke from my room, and I was in a non-smoking room. But the room was very comfortable, and i loved the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The service was great,and the location was very convenient for me. Compared to the hotel i went to in florida, this hotel is much much nicer, cleaner, and and the cleaning people did a much better job.
