Never again!
This hotel was clearly beautiful at one time, but has deteriorated greatly, so that the rooms all suffer from some kind of problem. We encountered a problem with the bedside lamp, without which reading would have been impossible in the room, and the workman who attended it (quickly, I should add) had to jerry-rig some kind of extension to make it work. Then we found a leak in the bathroom, around the toilet area. The door on the door was lacking the chain lock, and the door to the outside patio had a key on it with a little chain, and was crooked, so hard to lock and open, and anyone could have easily broken the glass and thereby opened the door with the key chained to it. One evening we discovered our window to the patio open, and it had no lock at all. We were on the ground floor.
The beds were just barely large enough for two adults (we had four people in two double beds), and the mattresses were old and uncomfortable.
Every evening for 4 evenings we had to ask the desk for four towels and bottles of water. Despite the fact that four of us were registered in the room and we asked every evening for the correct number of towels and waters, they continued to leave 2 of each. One day they left 3 towels; go figure! The first night that we asked for the correct number of towels and waters, the desk clerk replied that the water was a courtesy and we should buy more from the restaurant. But when I argued that if the hotel water is undrinkable, the least they could do for the $100 per night we were paying was give us a few extra bottles of water. They did do this.
Despite the shabby rooms and deteriorating conditions, the grounds were impeccably kept and the restaurant service was wonderful; the waiters were particularly cheerful and helpful. Not so the desk clerks, a few of whom were unpleasant and inattentive.
For the money, I would stay elsewhere. I definitely do not think that this hotel deserves 3 stars.
