Once was enough
By Mac, 2/22/12
The room wasn't ready till almost 5 PM on3 of the 4 days. It had a superficial cleaning. They gave my room key to another party who tried to enter my room at midnight. There are train tracks across the street and you get to listen to the trains honking there horn all night. Its 3 miles from downtown but in the middle of nowhere. A true example of getting less than what you pay for. SOrry, this is a definate pass. If you want clean and quiet then look elsewhere.

hospitality!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/10
We had great individual service beyond the call of duty! We also somehow received a free upgrade to a suite & this was a huge blessing. We would stay there again. We would recommend it to others and the location was very close to downtown Savannah.

Once was enough...
By clint, 7/12/10
The Hotel was in the middle of a sketchy part of town with train tracks directly across the street. The shuttle was a bust you could only get to downtown at certain times of the day and had to be ready to get picked up by 9 on the weekend, unless you wanted to take a cab. Our room smelled like a high school locker room and heaven forbid a thunderstorm come through, you lose power every 4 minutes and the cable was out for the entire stay. There were no restaurants in the vicinity ,so you were always trying to get to downtown. The city of Savannah was beautiful and full of things to do. I recommend staying in Downtown, a little more money, but well worth the investment.

they've lost a customer!!!
By yetta, 4/7/10
I reserved my room 3 weeks in advance on cheaptickets. After a 3 hour travel with a 4 and 5 year old, i arrives at the hotel to fiind that the suite that i reserved was not available and that I was down-sized to a standard room. My romm was paid fo in advance might I add!!! Needless to say, I was tired and had no strength to display the anger that i was really feeling! I was reduced to staying in the same space with the two little ones along with my husband and 1 tv! The first standard room that she gave me ws not cleaned, it had no linen on the bed and towels on the floor. We had to get back on the elevator with two small kids and a $*^% load of luggage and come back to the 1st floor. I was frustrated, disappointed and very angry. I will never stay at a Baymont hotel ever again! They totally ruined my b-day trip.... TWO THUMBS DOWN FOR SERVICE.!! :-(

Great affordable place to stay
By johnny, 12/7/09
I stayed at the Baymont Inn the weekend of Dec 4, 2009 for 3 nights. It really is a great value for the money...I would give it 6 stars for value if I could. The rooms are very spacious for a very affordable price. The hotel is about 3 miles from the historic district but there are free shuttles several times a day from the hotel and a cab ride would be about $10. Its only about 20 min to the beach at Tybee Island. Considering that you pay less than 1/2 what you would pay to stay in the historic area, its worth the short drive or shuttle ride,.....you can take tours and eat at some really nice restaurants with the extra $50-100 per day that you save!!!! There is really nothing around the hotel itself, a small buffet style restaurant next door , a Food Lion shopping center a block or so away and train tracks across the street (the sound was never an issue for us) .You might read somewhere that its in a bad area but its not really, .....its a few blocks from a pretty bad area but keep in mind that in downtown Savannah you are never more than a few blocks from a "sketchy" area, even in the historic district. We felt very safe here and all the room doors are on the inside. Our room was huge with a separate sitting area w/ pull out couch and tv, a fridge and microwave, good sized bath with great shower pressure PLUS a 42" plasma flat screen and one of the most comfortable king sized beds I've ever slept in. The room and hotel was clean..a few stains on the carpet and marks on the wall but nothing major and NOT dirty. The folks that work here are very nice and accomodating. There is a pretty good standard serve yourself breakfast (danishes, bagels, toast, cereal, fruit, waffle maker, sausage egg biscuits, grits), fresh baked cookies in the evening and a small concession area where you can buy hot pockets, chips, candy, etc for up to $1.50. Too cold this time of year for us to use it but there was a nice looking pool and hot tub out back. I travel quite frequently and believe that if you don't need luxury, just a very nice, clean, convenient place to stay, you would be hard pressed to find a better deal than this. No, you can't walk anywhere interesting from here BUT you can take a quick drive in your car or take the free shuttle into town and eat, shop, and play with all the money that you've saved by staying here. I am not an employee or a friend of the owner, I promise, just a very satisfied, impressed guest. Two thumbs up! : )

would return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/09
The staff was wonderful,The cleaning staff could have done a better job. It's a decent place for the money, there is a paper mill in the area so most of the time the smell outside was horrific. we stayed 5 days and never could get use to the smell. It didn't smell inside the room though. The area was a little seedy but no one bothered us.

Great Place, Friendly Staff, Nice Price
By Sally P, 7/19/09
From the moment we got there we were happy with how friendly and helpful the staff was. The maintenance man even introduced himself when we got on the elevator with him. Free continental breakfast (standard stuff) and cookies for guests in the evening. Rooms where clean and quiet. We had a suite with 2 TV's, a fridge, microwave, coffemaker, blow dryer and that was fantastic for the price we paid. Nice pool and free shuttle to town. Three miles from the Historic District. Would have preferred to stay closer, but the price was right. We purchased a dinning card for discounts, but only ended up saving $5.00 with it. Seems like it is in a bad part of town, but we always felt safe.

Great Bargain and our Yorkie Loved it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/1/09
The hotel was in very good shape and the suite we had was VERY COMFORTABLE and spacious --- EVERYONE we dealt with was COURTEOUS, FRIENDLY AND VERY HELPFUL. As experienced travelers we base a lot of our opinions on a hotel's clientele, and all the folks we met were GOOD PEOPLE. The proximity of the historic district made trips easy. Our Yorkie (JoJo) LOVED the grounds and explored every inch. We priced many hotels in the area and simply found this to be the BEST DEAL. When we return to visit Savannah, we'll definitely stay there again..

I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/19/09
DIRTY ~ MOLD IN BATHROOMS ~ NO MAID SERVICE FOR TWO DAYS, HAD TO CALL FRONT DESK AND MANAGER HAD TO BRING FRESH TOWELS ~ AFTER TWO DAYS OF NO ROOM SERVICE, MAID SERVICE KNOCKED ON OUR DOOR AT 9 AM AND ASKED TO SERVICE ROOM, SAID WE ARE STILL SLEEPING, SHE SAID WHEN WILL YOU BE LEAVING " I WON'T BE HERE ALL DAY, VERY RUDE". WE CHECKED OUT THAT MORNING. THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO REIMBUSE US FOR ONE DAYS STAY AND 10% OF THE OTHER 3 NIGHTS, BUT HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM. IF YOU ARE READING THIS, DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL. IT IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY TRAVELS. THIS WAS TO BE A FUN TRIP WITH MY DAUGHTER. I WILL NOT COME BACK TO SAVANNAH DUE TO THIS TRIP!
