Rated 5 Star But Not Quite Up To Par
My wife and I stayed at other Westin Hotels in the United States with 5 Star ratings and some without. Although Westin KL is rated a 5, it falls short of what you might expect---it is clearly overpriced ($350 per nite....room with executive club privledges was great (we could order what we wanted---aftenoon cocktails and drinks were good as well). The rooms were a bit small (although the view was nice) but nothing awesome.....mini bar was expensive and bottled water limited to one or two per day per room-you had to purchase if you wanted more). Restaurants were relatively expensive so we often ate at other places---with equally good food. Room service was fast and efficient and we received a call to (each time we requested service) to ensure that what we asked for was received and satisfactory. The attentive staff, however, is probably the BEST thing this hotel has! Check in, room service, maid service, bellmen, security staff were friendly, professional and caring; they truly have guest satisfaction upmost in their minds! A day before we checked out, I sent a lengthy letter of commendation to the hotel manager---unlike other Westin managers, he didn't respond; next time I will just check those darn boxes! Again, our stay at the Westin KL was good but not outstanding. For the price, I would stay at the Marriot (next door) during our next visit.....less expensive and probably better or just as good.
