Uh- ok I guess
For the money- ok we couldnt beat the price. However, the website was very misleading. Only 1 buffet was open, 2 restuarants. None of the food was anything to rave about, but ok. And you can only book at a restaurant 1 or 2 nights (depending on the length of your stay) STAY AWAY from most of the desserts. I know they try hard, but anything that was supposed to a mousse was more like a rubber, spongey, marshmallow like substance. The "cake like" desserts were pretty good, except one we had tasted like it had awful freezer burn. Rooms smelled very musty and we couldnt run the AC withouth that mildew smell. NEVER use the ATM at the hotel, we expected to get hit with "higher than normal" surcharges, but they were at leat $45 . They allow merchants onto the resort, which "hound" you as you try to walk to dinner. Which was nice when we ran out of time to go into town for souveniers but they are "difficult" to avoid. The staff was very friendly and helpful, although the front desk was not very knowledgeable. They told us the spa could charge the services to the room, they couldn't. Luckily I had my card with me. They also told us there was an 8 am ferry the day we were leaving, there wasn't. So needless to say we got there and hour too early and and hour late to the airport, luckily got to the airport with enough time to make it through security etc... but it seems to me that the hotel should know the ferry schedule. The resort grounds were beautiful, pools were great, beach was very nice with lots of shade when needed. If you like Corona, you're in luck, that's the only beer they serve. Ok by me, I just drank the wide selection of mixed drinks. Warning, 3 hurricanes and you are more than half in the bag, add some sun and you're down and out for a good couple hours. The ropes course was not in service but they had some group activities going (volley ball, bartending class, etc..) Overall it was Ok, but you could tell they were having some hard ecomonic times.
