Not perfect - but a great value

Only dislike - front desk staff not very friendly.
Possible areas for improvement - rooms could be maintained a little better, but for the price they are not bad. This is not a 4 or 5 star motel, and we weren't expecting one. The rooms basically met my expectations.
Beds were firm and comfy. Linens were clean. NO fridge in the rooms (my wife's only real complaint)
Great location - very nice after a long day of driving... you see the dim blue lights that outline the motel as you approach it on the interstate.
The "truck stop" next door is actually a PLUS. It's also the Bellemont Post Office, A Subway Shop, convience store, and best of all - a really good Diner style resturant. The food was great, excellent selection and low prices. Show your room card and get another 10% off.
The free motel breakfast is OK if you are in a hurry. Coffee, Apple, Orange juice, milk . Donuts, bread, and bagels. There is a toaster for the bagels, etc. No waffles, but they had
little packages of breakfast cereal. Most of them are the sugar coated kiddie cereals, but if you are lucky, you can get a healthier one when they open a new carton. If you want a really good breakfast though - just walk out the front door and head to the diner next-door.
Free long distance phone calls (they must have installed an IP phone service recently). Free internet broadband connection on the side of the phone too.
Our room at the back of the motel gave us a nice view of Humphrey Peak from the window seat. If we go back to the Grand Canyon area again, I will strongly consider staying at the Microtel again.
